Troubling decision. Where to from here?

With my Richmond hat on, the best that can be said of it is the Cotchin/Shiel incident is no longer the measuring stick for what's an acceptable contest and what's not. Mackay's actions—and the outcome—put Cotchin's in the shade.
So are you saying what Cotchin did is acceptable?

What's the issue David king all of a sudden has with concussion?
Is he on the board of Concussion Australia?
If they stop half the shiit King wants them to stop.
AFL will be netball with goal posts
It pains me to say it, but it (almost) is.!!

I would say Christian must be peed off with Shocking shafting him so where does he go from here ?. Gotta show some metal & hand the slot to Shocking .

Wow... so who becomes untenable Hocking or Christian... this could get interesting

I wasn't happy with the decision but after listening to the 360 panel discussion I can see why the tribunal had no choice for the time being. The idea that "if you choose to bump you are responsible for the outcome" clearly does not apply to a bump that occurs when two players are genuinely contesting the footy even if one or both sustain knocks to the head. The concept of charging seems to be non-existent so you can do whatever you like provided you are going for the ball. This provides good theatre but is this a responsible way to protect the players' heads given that modern players are all faster and stronger than the 1800's when the game was first developed? There is work to be done to somehow influence the mindset of players attacking the footy, so they are not so reckless that head injuries are almost inevitable. How we achieve that is the problem to be solved or we risk losing good young players to other sports and shortening the careers of many skillful ball players...along with a long queue of legal cases seeking compensation.

Kings got a mind like a steel trap. Once he gets an idea in his head it cannot be shaken.

Heh heh heh… you may or may not agree with Thomas on everything but you at least gotta admire he doesn’t hold back or suck up to anyone.
Only because he doesn't rely on the AFL's teat to survive. They drove him out of the media so I doubt he's going to pull any punches,

I was truly surprised this incident went as far as it did. I saw it similar to the Kamdyn M one were he got knocked out. 2 players going for the ball & one gets injured. No bump. No issue, no report. End of Story. Like wtf did everyone just go through.

SHocking by reports, has caused this whole thing & he is nothing imo but a blight on the game. This saga is just another example of it.

I just keep thinking that the outcome of all of this will be that you can bump a player or go in for the ball at the same time as another player, but that you must avoid the head. Not unreasonable, the head needs to become somewhat sacrosanct.
