Coronavirus

Well, Macron has made that sort of move in France with restaurants and vaccination passes.
I think you can only do that when everyone has access to the vaccination. There are millions out there who want to get vaccinated but can't due to lack of supply. We all know why that is the case.

the reward for doing your civic duty is either

1. living in a civil society, or
2. you and your family understanding that you're not a *smile*.

both are ample reward IMHO.
And if only 60% chose to get vaccinated then what?

Vaccination passports are a must with extra exemptions. Best way to get people sitting on the fence and making pathetic excuses to not get the jab to get it done.

I’m hoping in the next few weeks that it gets opened up to everyone over 16, so those that want to do the right thing can do so.

Also as I have mentioned before try and get Tassie and the NT fully vaccinated so that we can see how they can return to COVID normal. That we can all see what is possible in our country.

We can't open it to everyone as we don't have the supply. The poor planning means we need to prioritize by at risk status.

apparently "500,000" were supposed to be attending the snap protest according to the some of RWNJ social media pages. :mhihi

maybe i'm too biased because I am fully vaccinated, but I am of the view that i deserve extra exemptions during a lockdown because I am fully vaccinated.

People will disagree with this because I can still catch COVID… but at some point, people need to be rewarded for doing their civic duty.
I'm sorry, but this point of view can GTFO.

Rewarded for being vaccinated? How entitled can you get?

You got the best reward anyone on the planet could get right now. A freaking safe and effective vaccine.

Meanwhile, I've only just been allowed to get a vaccine that I'm still technically not eligible for, I've got my first appointment in a week and then my second dose in October. I, like millions of other people my age and around the world, have to weather the rest of this year, and perhaps longer with absolutely no protection against a lethal, pandemic virus.

Did they give you a lollipop after your shot?

But even then what about under 16yo kids? Are they allowed to go where the VicVacPass holders can go despite not being vaccinated? Do they get exemption because they are too young (according to some) to get vaccinated or are they treated as unvaccinated because they can still contract and spread the virus?

As much as I am looking forward to countries opening up to vaccinated people, having one kid vaccinated and one too young to get vaccinated right now would be tough. Probably tougher on the 11yo thinking he's stopping the family from visiting the grandparents. Brothers being brothers, the 13yo will keep telling him that too.

Me and snake consulted extensively and took the difficult decision to not attend the footy tonight and cheer on Jack.

it wasn't an easy decision, but was informed by (in order of importance)

1. Going to the footy amidst a pandemic outbreak doesnt really pass the risk assessment. As much as we would love to go, it is kind of our civic duty to use common sense not to go, rather than wait until the horse bolts and Government tells us what to do.

2. I'd feel compelled to wear a mask, my glasses would fog up, I wouldnt see anything, and Id have to deal with a mask full of pie, spit and tequila

3. Havnt received any ticketing info off RFC (dont blame them one bit #getfucktgil)

4. The risk of relentless, consistently terrible umpiring is real, and feed into the cost benefit analysis (#getfukthocking)

5. Lion fans were real obnoxious *smile* last game. It wasn't an enjoyable night whatsoever. Yeah, it'd be great to beat them (I think we will) and give it to 'em, but points 1-5 compounded is too great

wasn't an easy decision, we both felt strongly that we owe our Jack some love, but there it is.

Any accusations of 'softness' or '*smile* weak fair weather supporter' would be justified, and taken on the chin. :help

Mostly the same reasons I haven't attended the last couple here.

Pandemics suck.

Qld close border to Vic.

Tigers only packed one pair of jocks.

they will fly home Saturday according to benny, and then cant leave Vic.

Unless we see all teams fly to Qld before midnight tonight,

I honestly think the footy season might be done?

excuse and forgive me, but

I only ask, because my daughter who was born in December 2019 has never known a world where Richmond aren't premiers.

I don't want that to change

I think it's more despicable than that. Gladys and ScoMo are determined to get NSW through this without ever locking down as hard as Victoria. To lockdown like Vic would be to admit Dan had it right all along. Get NSW out of this without locking as hard, then claim victory, moral superiority and leadership excellence because not only did they not lockdown as hard as Dan, but they managed it with the Delta variant.

I would imagine that Gladys and the NSW authorise are half hoping Melbourne has an extended outbreak… Partly as a deflection for them, but also because it’ll hurt them politically (and vindicate the Victorian government’s response) if we kill this quickly.

I'm sorry, but this point of view can GTFO.

You're completely missing my point. While we are all critical of the slow rollout, there are still many people that are refusing to get the vaccine. I got my vaccine as soon as I was eligible. I would have got it earlier if I could. I would have got the AZ if I could. I feel it is my civic duty to do so (as I have said many times).

There needs to be more incentive for people to get vaccinated. If that makes me "entitled," then I will happily wear that tag. As people have said on this thread, even 75-80% might not be enough for herd immunity. I would definitely support compulsory vaccines for all essential services and bans for people who refuse for things such as flying and sporting events.

You're the typical socialist. We are all in this together until it doesn't favour me. I got vaccinated now I want privelege.

Socialists rail against those that actually "earn" some sort of advantage or privelege. GAGF.

It's why socialism never works.

:mhihi :mhihi

I was in a pharmacy early in the week with my brand new 2020 New Era premiers cap. The pharmacist starting talking about the Tiges. She was a Carlton supporter (she seemed quite nice surprisingly) but said her husband and son were mad Tigers. She said her son is 8 years old so has basically never known a world where Richmond isn't the best team in it. But over the past few weeks they've had to try and explain to him that your team doesn't always stay at the top :mhihi
