Remember a couple of weeks ago people were critical of the crowd cap at the footy? 25,000 is too low. 30,000 is too low. 40,000 is too low. Wonder if they think that now? People in the footy media were critical as well. They were claiming the government was pulling crowd cap numbers out of their arses. But were they really?
If footy returns to Melbourne in a few weeks with crowds, i can't imagine too many would wanna attend after the events on the Carlton v Geelong game. people who don’t know each other test positive. crazy stuff.

The question I want to hear at the NSW presser is something along these lines.
Your following of the health advice has lead to a lockdown with an unknown end date and triggered issues in the rest of Australia. Now you say you will only increase restrictions if you know they will work - clearly what has happened already has shown you can’t promise this or we wouldn’t be in a lockdown. Wouldn’t it be better to do what has worked elsewhere already and almost guarantee the outcome? The public can’t have faith in the health advice given it hasn’t worked so far and cost Australia billions of dollars and probably will cost many lives.
If not why do we think we can get a better outcome in NSW with the delta strain given we have failed so far?

As a nation we are obviously happy to say that to Indonesia and other struggling nations who cannot get access to vaccines. Most decry our government for not having more vaccines. Given the relative small risk from covid we have here in Australia shouldn't we be a long last on the world vaccination program list?

My concern in Victoria is we got on top of Delta last time but there are no guarantees we can do it again this lockdown.
Even if we do it's only a matter of time before it spills over from NSW again with Glady's attitude.

Agree with most of this, yes, we have a long way to go before everyone has the opportunity to be vaccinated. This simply should not be the case but it is.
Freedom of movement and the ability to visit shops and the like has to happen eventually.
This is why we only open up once everyone has had the opportunity to be vaccinated.
I will add that we can't really be waiting for some to make up their minds or be held back by those who simply refuse.
How to protect those who can't have the vaccine is always a thorny problem. On the whole Australians are pretty good at getting vaccinated, but maybe we would have to set a minimum percentage to open up so that we protect those who have no choice and cannot get vaccinated.

we got on top of delta last time because we were already in lockdown when it arrived here. at the time i thought we caught a lucky break for once.
My youngest is moving out and so im looking to adopt a kid born 31 Sept 2017 if anyone has a spare.
