Olympics Tokyo 2021 - sport

Sam Kerr is playing tonight despite the haters casting doubts.

Laurel Hubbard competing, let alone winning a medal, in the female weight lifting really doesn't sit right with me.

Agree. I would be very pissed off if I was a competitor of hers. I don't care what anyone says she has a distinct and unfair physical advantage over her competitors.

Doesn't matter whether transgender athletes get their hormones to arbitrary levels set by sporting organisations via artificial means (and/or have cosmetic surgery to alter their sex organs). There are way more complex, intertwined differences between the two sexes. No amount of hormone treatment and cosmetic surgery will undo the neurological and skeletal advantages a male has. Nor the larger overall body mass and and larger sized crucial internal organs the natural lottery of being born male affords them. It simply cannot be undone.

If people refuse to see logical, observable fact and reason on this, because their judgement is clouded by the political aspects of it. The devil's advocate solution might be to abolish sex segregated categories in sport. In this sense, if people want to really push this, it's an example of needing to be very careful at what they wish for.

But no one like the Brownlow count back system they used to find the ONE best player, not two or three best.
Introduced three years ago for scenarios like this.
Sport can be ego driven , you just have to look at sprinters and the way they act/conduct themselves. Most I admire them but some can hold other athletes with such contempt that if ( not sure if it applies in track this rule ) but doubt they would accept being on the stage ( sharing it with another ).

In this instance I don’t mind it. They had been competing for many jumps. You take the medal ( gold ) instead of silver in this instance may mean huge $ for you.

There is always next time.

My opinion though.

It is though a complex issue as you stated above and I do agree somewhat but this is the age we live in.

Discrimination is king.
To speak out and question it, you would get bombarded and seen as a racist, discrimination and such.

There isn’t consistencies though !

Is there any possible explanation for that Jamaican jackosons 200m semi decelerating herself out of the final @Panthera Tigris,

other than an unfathomable *smile* up?

How about the discrimination against the female athletes that have been competing as a females all of their lives? Now they have to compete against an athlete with obviously superior and unfair physical capabilities. They may be denied a genuine chance at winning a medal.

Didn't see the full athletics session unfortunately. But from what you describe, that's all I can guess. Not unprecedented. Have seen plenty of near misses and a couple of actual misses like you describe from people playing silly buggers over the final metres of qualifying rounds.

Something I've never understood. Maybe a slight easing off perhaps, if you know you are well clear. But some of it seems ego driven more than of any practical use, given the actual degree of deceleration we sometimes witness and in the extremely risky race scenarios they do it in. All I can do is shake my head.

Note, Peter Bol's coach told him explicitly not to get involved in any of that crap. Just run! Make sure of your spot in the next round is more important than any marginal energy conservation.

Agree Ridles and didn’t want to elaborate on that.

Exactly. As we can see 00:00:02 can mean the difference in whether you make the final list or not.

Risky business the ‘deceleration caper show boating’.

The beach volleyball girls sure do a lot of hugging between points. I like it.

Brisbane might introduce

Naked, oiled-up, explicit lesbian sex

as an exhibition sport in 2032

the way the world is going these days.

(hypothetically, I'll tip a Jamaica V West Germany final, with France and Fiji controversially writhing it out for bronze)

Indeed.

Quite a quick heat for Linden Hall too and she looked pretty smooth. So two ladies through to the semis.

Both the men's and women's 1500m are surprisingly strong events in for Australia at present. Quite a bit of depth even beyond the three selected runners in each.
When are the finals PT?

I would endorse that being introduced.

There's this thing on Google these days that lets you search for stuff. Try typing

when is the women's 1500m final on

and clicking search. It even adjusts for your timezone.
