Jack Ross

24 touches 4 clearances 8 turnovers and one score involvement, it’s not exactly the new chimp? He had a good game for Jack but his possessions rarely hurt. No sure he is starting 22 material. Still young but I think a couple of other young guys have more scope.
He’s 20 years old. Plenty of time yet.

I’m sure if we didn’t keep him another team would pick him up. But I don’t see the future bull inside mid that some do. Hope I’m wrong as we need a clearance beast.

I agree Jazz, his possessions don't hurt the opposition.

Agree we need an inside bull and IMHO Ross and RCD are not our answer.

Gotta laugh at the old ‘possessions don’t hurt the opposition’ statement. Empty statements. Played a good, balanced midfield role and was probably bog for us.

Just had a cracking game and people still want to criticise young blokes who have been severely hampered through lack of opportunity, I don’t get it. Aren’t supporters supposed to support ??

It sounds like he couldn't have done much more FB,

and good on the kid. I hope he wins the Brownlow.

But it was a dead rubber.

Said a few weeks ago from a strong TAC connection, to give him his best chance, we have to let him roll on the ball. None of this hbf bs or out on the wing. Let him play on the ball. We saw that today. Heaps better. Lot of work to still do, but heaps better.

doesn't hurt you, isn't particularly clean or dynamic.

all said and done, can find it but doesn't have a second AFL trait.

I'd let him go considering our draft hand.

You have misunderstood Ross. He is your classic midfielder who does the dirty work. He is not your match wonder but can be a very useful cog in a premiership winning team.

The stage doesn't get much bigger than today,

for blokes like Jack Ross.

disclosure: didn't see the game.
Geez eZy you could have at least lied before making that comment about not watching the game.

to expand on this a little, we have Cotchin and Prestia as our main pigs in the yard.

Both have disposal light years ahead of Ross, but I concede the point that we are talking about depth here.

If a guy like RCD is in our second tier pig roster, I still think he has more tricks than JR - a turn of speed, more precise disposal, a smidgen more x-factor.

Yeah, just don't see it.

Opportunity Carts. He hasn’t had it. Not at least in the right part of the ground. He is still young. He will never be Prestia quality but definitely has a role to play. I think sometimes we are far too quick to pass judgement on kids in general.

This where we disagree with Ross and RCD. I think Ross is a more rounded player than RCD.
Btw RCD ain’t quick.

The only thing RCD has got over Ross is a 7 month age gap. Right now, Ross is the superior player and has been since day one.

Honestly, I don’t understand the hate towards him. If RCD had Ross’ output we’d be singing the praises of our recruiters. Yet, for some reason, RCD needs to be given “more time” while being older and having no significant injuries during his time at the club. While Ross is a write-off despite being younger and having a better output to date at VFL and AFL level.
