This. Dow has kept showing glimpses this year, and is tracking progressively forward from 2020 IMO. His brother has been a much slower burn at Cartoon and started showing some really positive signs finally. I reckon we have the better brother. But both very lightly built - people need to be patient while Paddy develops the body for AFL midfield play.

He has the skills. Like I posted after seeing his draft highlights video, think of a young Sheds. Took years for him to really demonstrate his capabilities too.
Couldn't give a stuff how long it takes Paddy to develop a body or anything else Leon. Young Tommy is coming along nicely though.

Sure, but core strength helps a lot in the contests.
Paddy plays for Carlscum. He has my permission to develop the core strength of a wet lettuce leaf.
Young Thomson however has my full blessing to become a powerhouse n star for us as quickly as may feasibly be possible.

You may be forced to as there's noise he could end up with brother Thomson at Tigerland
:)) He ain't here yet toofy one. When he arrives I'll follow how he goes, until then he plays for Carlscum. Stuff him.

Wasn’t wrapt in TDs game , was so much easy ball to be got with some hard running , however I saw quite a few good things I like going forward, big pre season , a few more kegs and he’ll be good, his want to handball does worry me a tad, though he is very good with his hands

Can see why he handballs so much. Did this as a junior, where the knock was on his kicking.

Was a let down game. Just didn't seem involved

This is the worry.
In his previous game he nailed some low passes, so that was good.
V Hawks, it was back to loopy up and unders.
Like many, waits an eternity to make up his mind, and then eventually just boots it high and long to disadvantage.
We'll put that down to inexperience.
However, its Mission Critical for him and Ross, RCD, Rioli D, Rioli M, Hugo etc to work extra hard over pre-season on their low penetrating kicks to targets.
That's the make or break skill required now.

This is interesting viewing. At the end of the clip the Dees try and trade up with Richmond. They want Dev Robertson. They have us taking Trent Rivers. They call and offer a deal, we aren’t interested. We tell them we’ve been offered 1st round picks for it. We don’t take that and still take Dow. It’s an incredible insight.

Future 4th rounder perhaps not worth moving down 9 spots? Depends where we though Dow might go.

Robertson can't kick either. Averaged 13.1 disposals to Dow's 13.2. Eight touches last night. I'm not sure we missed out on Michael Voss.

Rivers is a half-back-flanker. A good one, for sure. But not an area of need for us.

Dow has some great traits and some weaknesses, hence he went at pick 21. A summer in the gym and not having his appendix removed will help. I have high hopes.

Melbourne state “Richmond have been offered firsts”. The Melbourne offer isn’t the interesting part, it’s that we knocked back future firsts to take Dow.

Still a bit to play out with this one. Let’s re-visit this one in 12 months time.
