Matthew Parker

Dimma mentioned he will be back next year so expect a contract is on the cards for 2022. He is in Quarantine at the moment therefore unable to play this week finals games. South Freo finished second so must have a double chance in the Finals. I think Parker is a late bloomer & can be a very good player for the Tigers in the future
You never know but to date the Saints didn't see a future for him in their ranks and we have a better list. He didn't exactly set the world on fire with us this season so are we expecting to much from an average journeyman player?

#role player

2 goals to MP, South by a point!
Yep. Kicked 2 of 5 goals in the 3rd to bring SF 1 goal behind Claremont. This bloke plays as a scavenger that wants to eat the ball. I reckon we'll be using him as an inside mid a bit next season.
Parker also did his groin in the last qtr. Not sure how badly.
Was moving freely late in the last as I noticed.

He’s no good as an inside mid at afl level , constantly second to the ball, he’s a F50 Defensive forward , if he can’t make an impact in that role , he’s little value to us

LIFELINE EXTENDED FOR TIGER

RICHMOND mid-season draftee Matthew Parker has committed to a new one-year deal to remain at Punt Road in 2022.

The 25-year-old was plucked out of South Fremantle in June, having been delisted by St Kilda after a two-season stint last year.

Parker's agent, Anthony Van Der Wielen of Empire Sports Management, confirmed his client would soon ink a fresh contract to remain on the rookie list into next season.

Big game in a losing side last week against West Perth curry eaters. Will be a valuable asset at Punt Road next year with loads of pace & knows how to tackle.

If he is playing in the 1s next yr then I don't believe we will be a serious challenger.

Agree. I see him as depth at best, unless there is some marked improvement in him come next season. I certainly don't see him as part of our best 22.
