Coronavirus

Yep fair enough. Personally Ive stopped watching them every day, mainly because nothing new is being said anyway.

Wonder if Vic will follow suit at some point given we will not be returning to 0 cases for a VERY long time - so at some point they will need to make a call on it.
“….will not be returning to 0 cases for a VERY long time..” Would more accurately be described as, “Will not be returning to 0 cases again in human history.” Once the virus got out of the Wuhan area of China. I think that the COVID-0 horse had already bolted and was never getting put back in the pen.

As unfortunate as it is. COVID-0 is not a point that was ever going to be maintained into eternity once it reached the wider world.

Even NZ health officials are intimating that they acknowledge that. And their strategy will inevitably need to change.

392 new local cases and 0 cases acquired overseas. - 36,534 vaccines administered - 48,063 test results received

https://covidlive.com.au/vic
Great Link. Thanks

I prefer to see the full number of administered vaccines not the politically geared comments by Dan stating only State run jab hubs.
It understates. Vic getting some good numbers out. Rapt

6/9 - 35,857 doses
7/9 - 73,560 doses
8/9 - 83,049 doses
9/9 - 85,605 doses
10/9 - 86,898 doses
and
11/9 - 80,945 doses

Well done Vics !

Couldn't find a good graph comparing Vic and NSW current outbreaks so did it myself. NSW hopefully have topped out but if Vic follow similar trajectory as NSW we are stuffed.

I hope I’m 100% wrong and Queensland never do another lockdown. My comments are based on having cases and neighbouring NSW. And the below shows Queensland is last in the race.

Yep 28c here on the Gold Coast today . I am going to have afternoon session at the Burleigh Pavillion. Even if we have someone sneak over the border . Government are onto it straight away . No cases today after 5 yesterday. People social distance and that’s it . No masks . No idiotic rules . Been like this all winter . Most I know are all fully vaxxed up here

Good news below. I’m concentrating on the content rather than the author. Having these doses at pharmacy level will really increase the vaccination levels. Everyone who wants to be vaccinated with these 2,000,000 doses should be able to get one in the next 20 days.

Exactly, sick of Dan saying the State hubs have done more than we agreed or expected to do and giving a relatively easy 1m doses in 5 weeks target that they can beat by a couple of days.
Sky's the limit Dan don't rest on your laurels and reset your goals, you have been telling us for 2 weeks you are going to beat this one.

It's people.. and governments .
Many reasons including selfishness, stupidity, fatigue. Also fed up with doing the right thing only to hear others don't and the virus continues on regardless. The last is certainly the case in Vic.
The answer is to let the fully vaccinated out now with covid safe restrictions ie masks.
People will be happier and the non vaccinated will desperately want to join in.
Fully vaccinated are very very low risk.
What the governments are guilty of is being too slow to act.
Make a positive change now, let the vaccinated out now and we can move forward.
It is non action , slow action and no solution in sight that drives people to give up complying.
As JKennedy Snr said...." don't think, do! "

Suggest you all go and live in Queensland and NT , CoVid DOSENT exist , figure that out

Seeing pictures of thousands of people on the NSW beaches today (many unmasked) is absolutely infuriating.
WTF are our leaders doing? National Cabinet? Hello? Anyone home?

FFS!

seemed to go pretty peak normal up here Saturday night.

Byron Bay looked like it was NYE.

I don't think there is really any middle ground between hard lockdown and total freedom anymore?

Morbidly, what's the odds on WA covid in the next 2 weeks and some kind of compromised GF?

I strangely expect its more likely than not.
