Let me list a few players

Petty
Bowey
Rivers
Spargo
Sparrow
McDonald
Brown
Hibberd
Harmes
Neil-Bullen

All played their role but they are not superstars. I’m not saying they aren’t decent players but they are also not massively better than the bottom 10 in a number of other teams. ( I am sure some will question my list)

Melbourne were great this season and awesome last night but they are far from unbeatable

The Dees played well for most of the year and deserved the end result , now besides an extra 5 week break someelse gets the burden of reigning premier and benchmark team

I still think that the Demons lack real pace across the ground and it is an area that can be exploited. I am not suggesting it is easy to do, but it can be done.

Also still can not understand why the Dogs did not drop a midfielder on the defensive side of the centre contests after half time. The Dees looked awesome smashing them out of the middle, but I thought the Dogs helped with some poor tactics.

I'm sure tomorrow night that Chris Scott will speak negatively about the new powerhouse and put his Geelong mates at the AFL to work on stopping them.

agree, although Bowey will be a star.

it was just Dees time.

they will be top 4 next year, along with Footscray, Tigers and someone else irrelevant

We were in Blairgowie at a Cafe at the start of 2020.
Petrecca was there with a few mates, the boys decked out in there Richmond R baseball caps.
And Petrecca looked at the boys and said 'good side'.
I said to him come over. He laughed

Unlike last year's bs season?
Ha ha. That’s what I thought.

So much jealousy on this thread. Hopefully the players are jealous too and get some hunger back.

FWIW there are a lot of parallels with us in 2017 for the Dees. Good luck to them and their long suffering supporters, it’s brought back those memories from 2017 for me.

Weightman had a Rohan like game
Sorry i watched the first 3 qtrs last night.
May was shitt
Dunkley was worse
Pickett was invisible
Daniel and Dale had a comp who can *smile* up more by foot.
Stefan Martin hopless
Was impressed how good Sparrow and Rivers were.
Bompmytelly Petrecca stand outs.
Gawn was good Oliver was good.
McCrea and Libba have no penetration in there kicks, they boot the ball and it struggles to go 40 metres.
Hunter is shitt.
Overall besides the 2nd qtr a really *smile* GF.

I know i watched the game after the result.
But playing it in Perth it had the Wizard Cup feel.
I didn't see it as a GF.
That sits besides 1991 for me.
The who cares GF

About right. Except Bowey. He’s played 7 games and is a little star. Reminds me of Baker with his calmness and clean play.
But like us they do have role players that all did their job.
