Meh, it'll be a fluff session with no real fan input over the project. waste of time and i'm not gonna bother.
You obviously don't go to the VFL and sit in possum poo to watch the game or care that our players probably have close to the worst facilities if you don't at least some interest in the re-development.

My main concern is the see through wire fence goes for something solid and i can no longer can view training ;)

The club's presentation was very good. Plans look great & very excited by the redevelopment.

My only queries (& they're big ones) are how we're going to afford it?
$35m dollars is a heck of a lot of money to raise..
There's a lot of difficult sub questions I'd like to ask & get honest answers.

There's no doubt the introduction of an AFLW team is the no1 reason we're paying for this above all else.
I hope at some stage the competition turns a dollar.

The growth in importance of the VFL and the team playing at Punt Road would also be a significant factor, as would the capability to host more corporate events. Improving the site in general positions the club really well to earn more corporate revenue - something we've not traditionally been very good at.

I'll donate money if they agree to demolish the eyesore that sits next to the Jack Dyer Stand.
Loved the re-development, don't care how we pay for it, (beg, borrow or steal o_O )

All things considered. .... it ain't hard to love it when it's beside that cobbled together, ramshackle, colorbond black'n yella peril..!
The amount of money torched trying to be arty-farty has always left me perplexed. Coming from a building background the moment I saw angles and colour changes I knew it would be *smile* house and over budget !
I won't get started on the triangular portholes!
With a bit of luck, further down the track, once we get this new one built we can start planning for the extension in it's place!..... Rant over:)

The concept on face value a good idea
Query only 8000 seated when you are spending $60m ?
Suggest the Dustin Martin Centre has a better ring to it
We are a sporting club after all
Never heard of the Cooper bloke

Liked the pics of the area between the Jack Dyer Stand and Punt Rd, at the moment that is simply a mess, looks awful and is wasted space with a couple of portables there. Punt Rd was neglected for a very long time, the development of the training facilities, what, 15 years ago, on the West side of the ground was a good start. We now need to expand and that means we need to lose the old stand because the only way to expand is North. Hopefully, once this is done they could look at expanding towards Punt Rd next to the new stand as we saw in some earlier plans. That would make for a great facility and for a viable ground for AFLW and VFL games with a decent small crowd.

Good to see this is a priority, let's get it done.

The new Stand will still be called The Jack Dyer Stand and yeah don't know William Cooper and the only link i can find to Richmond is great grandfather to Nathan Drummond, (with us for all of 2 seconds), but don't mind the deeper link in William Cooper's fight for the aboriginal people particularly as every ceremony or function you go to these days at RFC starts with giving thanks to the traditional owners of the land and indigenous people past and present etc. Originally I were skeptical that the Korin Gamadji Institute was just a means to an end but now without a doubt it is one of the best things the club has done and we are leaders in this space not only for indigenous players but it's youth.

The design looks great. I think a key to the design is to make the ground feel more inclusive, connected to the community, rather than locked out. I know it is different, but Vic Park is an amazing community facility and the local council have got it spot on. I think the openness is an important criteria for government funding.

While the club does an amazing job for the KGI, Bachar Houli Foundation, etc. the challenge with the new design is to ensure it is inclusive for the Richmond community.

By the drawings, it really does look like a wonderful suburban facility.

Agree, re the name, said the same thing to some tiger mates who were asking who the hell is Cooper. To name it after an aboriginal activist, that no one's heard of and with no real connection to the club, is a woke joke. Should be named after a club great and the bloke that won us our most recent flag off his own boot is a good start.

Being "woke" won the club 3 Grand Finals in 4 years. Long may it continue.
