Yorgos Lanthimos who also directed The Favorite. Great director.
Also one called "Dogtown" or something that is apparently even more bizarre... haven't been able to track it down other than original in Greek with no subtitles...

Dogtooth 2009 Greek film he made. His first English film wasn't until 2015, The Lobster. I've got subtitles for Dogtooth if you message me Judge.

As a side note I liked Dogtown more than his others, but we all have different tastes aye
The Favourite in 2018 is also another film he directed with Olivia Coleman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, Daniel Craig's misses. That'd be my second favourite of his

Mr Lanthimos is one strange cat though, all his films are unique. His next release next year with Emma Stone again, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo called 'Poor Things', it's another with an interesting plot line!!

Just watched it. It's not in the class of Dr Strangelove, but still depressingly plausible.

Just finished watching Carry On Up The Khyber on Fox Classics. A golden moment for cinema. How Sid James never won an Oscar is just criminal.

Barbara Windsor sorely under rated as well. Had a couple of outstanding characteristics as an actress.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but Mr Church on Netflix is an ok bit of feel good nothingness.

Much more interesting than the plot is seeing a 60 year old Eddie Murphy. The man just does not age.
He was fantastic in Dolemite Is My Name in 2019. Really showed in Mr Church and Dolemite he could act

WTF???

Orig trig Star Wars and Jaws are classics.
Watched Jaws again the other night, it is simply brilliant. Released in 1975 but timeless. Spielberg masterpiece. John Williams masterpiece.

Yet to watch an episode of star wars. One fine day when I'm old n retired n sittin on the couch with nothing to do I reckon I might have to make an effort n binge watch some. Is it any good????
I'm sure there's whingers that don't like anything they do, anything Disney, Marvel or anyone does. I thought it wasn't too bad, it showed his past and answered some questions over it. It's got a pretty good tick so far, looking forward to the next episode. And Ahsoka Sahn, Obi-Wan, Mandalorian episodes to hit in '22, it's going to be a big year man :giggle:

(My idea of retirement is Kho Samui or Phuket apartment, wake up at 10-11, grab a beer and the AFL starts around that time 1.40pm here and Thailand 3hrs behind Oz time. Watch footy until 7pm there time when it finishes around 10pm here, which is still early enough to go out to the bars, have a drink, eat with some fun thrown in :p)
