Unless Voss can improve them by another 10% I can’t see them making the eight. I think all the hype is actually hope after being in the wilderness for so long.
They've lost Jones and don't have Marchbank for half a season, and Curnow who knows what will happen with him.

That leaves their defence very thin even if they did get the lad from the Doggies.

Everything again will rest on Cripps, Walsh, Mackay and Weitering along with Cerra and Williams.

Agree! A few injuries and their depth becomes very thin. Would love to see us smash them first up and take away their confidence early on,

I'm keeping my powder dry with my ( too many) Carltank supporter friends. One day they will beat us in round 1 but I hope it won't be this year

Why? Not sure they are going to keep their's dry whatever you do. They are going to smoke it, explode it, puff it and rub it all over their fetid bodies.

I tend to not rub losses into supporter's faces, especially to people who didn't do it to me over 30 years!

Most oppo supporters got tired of rubbing our faces in it after about ten years of *smile*. After that we simply became their second team with lots of good wishes for us to improve n that was far worse than them hanging *smile*.

Been around footy more than long enough to know that a few years of success generally means plenty of years of mediocrity or even incompetence. Buggered if I'm ever gunna let the good times pass without a full complement of chest beating, singin n dancin n down right obnoxiousness.

Pity is way worse than rubbing peoples nose in it.

And other supporters seeing you so happy with football burns them up.

I pity Carlton. They are Richmond around 1995 ish. Loooonnnggg wayyy to go.

We made a prelim in ‘95. Can’t see the Blues doing that.

I would love to see Carlton on the bottom of the ladder for another 30 years and their supporters suffering into extinction but
I think this will be the year they move up and have now got a list capable of playing finals.

They just need 1-2 of their younger players to step up for depth and put pressure on their millionaire's

Interesting that in the absence of Jones Carlton has pressed Mitch McGovern into defence. On the rare occasions McGovern can get on the park he is a potato forward. But he's always struck me as a back. He could be about to flourish.

More chance winning tonight powerball then McGovern playing 50% of a season.
Injury prone.
Is he one of Silivagni's master strokes?

Credit to Voss. Failed AFL Senior Coach to Premiership Coach in 2 games.

Hate to say it but they are building nicely. There is quite a bit of similarities to us … even going through the hard years we had bookends either end in Jack and Rance as they do with McKay and Weitering. Gun young midfielders like we did. Filled some holes from trades.

I do think they will come unstuck once winter kicks in and the game slows down.

They killed us in 1 quarter and last night they did what Melbourne did to the Dogs, and matched them in the midfield and then exposed their lack of quality in the back half.

I don't think they really tested Carltons defence enough, other than Weitering, I'm not really sold on any of their defenders right now (hence why we scored so well going inside 50 last week) so that remains to be seen, reckon their defence is their weakness.
