Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

It's a crap game to watch now.

Umpire asked for advice on his mic.

Wanted to pay 50 then asked for advice.
Wtf

Debacle.

A billion dollar game,

And an u10's game is run more professionally.

Its unnerving how much 2-3 blokes can engineer something so big and old and beautiful,

To be so *smile* crap.

Its not right

Surely if you ran for senate in Victoria on a reform AFL platform,

Youde get a gig?

And you pass a bill for McLachlan and hocking and scott to be put in stocks naked in federation square

And told to stand without dissent, for the term of their natural lives

And flayed by the public, with free boiled savaloys (yes, access to the rear of the restraint is permissible - its common sense) and mid strength beer in plastic cups,

In perpetuity

Yep, stated to the entire football viewing world that he had paid a free kick and that he thought it was 50.

Overruled by Stevic. The NON controlling umpire.

Both those cheats should be umpiring EDFL next week, and an explanation given by the AFL.

I bet we hear zero and they front up again to ream us after the bye.

Who gave the advice? One of the umpires clearly wanted to pay 50.

That they wanted to apply "common sense" is the ultimate absurdity.

Someone very clear headed and decisive overruled 50m

Because the media will have forgotten the story by lunchtime.

But if theyde followed the rules,

And its a draw.

Theres a focus on the absurdity and dysfunctionality

For, well, 2-3 days maybe?

You have to hand it to The AFL, they are astonishingly good at brand protection, spin and manipulation,

Even on the fly.

They must have a team of a hundred marketting PR psychological genius psychopaths

In a bunker somewhere

Spot on.

Putting the astounding absurdity of that aside, I was more frustrated with the Umps approach in the last 5 minutes. Just refused to pay anything to us, a couple of obvious ones and a heap of could-have been-paid ones, scared of the crowd.

TBR could make an argument against most of them individually not being paid, but when you put them all together it was a clear trend.

As I said earlier, apart from the opening goal, the 2 minute period when the ump just kept calling play-on for no reason when we had a kick in the backline (what was that?), and the last 5 minutes, I thought the umps were'nt biased, just too hair trigger on the whistle and generally hopeless.

Prohibited contact.
Will be hearing that a lot more.

Cooked.

Does our game have an actual book

Called 'rules'?

And can you leaf through it, looking for

'Prohibited Contact'?

WTF?

We need to play a long game. Donate some of our babies to be raised by umpires, as subversive spies.

Then one day they umpire the 2045 Geelong V Collingwood grand final,

Appear in clown suits and pay every *smile* subjective game ruining free, inconsistently, in rapid succession, for 100 minutes,

Yes they are good at being reactive, which is a synonym for bad in regards to management and governance.

Yeah the irony of the utter debacle,

Was we got the best run off the umps in a decade.

Not that it matters coz there is no such thing as “common sense” in the rules, but what common sense was applied anyway?

The umpire blows his whistle within 10 feet of Warner, before the siren, the siren goes and Warner boots it away.

What, is it common sense to say Warner is a deaf mute and should be excused ?

Just more garbage from the umpires, media etc. If it had been any other team there’d be howls of umpire error and getting hosed.

1. That was an open hand slap
2. Common sense prevailed. That wasn't a 50.
She should never be invited back to commentate a game again.

I’ve got a novel idea - lets go up stairs for every 50m penalty. Or even let the watching public vote?

Don't you know AFL
Rules can be twisted and manipulated to the weather conditions.
It's *smile*.
If the umpire was waiting for a hand from upstairs,
The response shouldve been, Holding Prestia free kick, Warner kicks the ball away. Easy 50 metre penalty call.

Yep, normally a very good commentator surrounded by buffoons.

But we found her Kool-aid tipping point last night. The AFL machine finally wore her down.

Who ever has Twitter, start sending the 50's that Bolton copped just last week for exactly the same thing.
Send them to Parrot, King and Cornes
The cockroaches

The push to exonerate Franklin is astounding. Protect the head blah blah blah yet nothing in it.

Lynch or Pickett would get 5

Why not review an extremely controversial decision? Like the NBA does.

The result of that game was ultimately decided because ONE umpire spoke more confidently into the mic than another!
