Round 3 Update

What a challenging day of golf it was. Windy, fast greens, brutal rough, a typical US Open setup. Unfortunately for most of us this meant a climbing field average. I worked it out to be a touch over 73.5. Pretty sure we round up meaning anyone relying on a missed cut score gets +6. Ouch.

That being said, Red's boys got a little nervous. He ended up 18 over for the round and has a running total of +9. There is a glimmer of hope that one or two of his boys can shoot an 80 but he's still a very strong favourite and last I looked was being layed at 1.05 on the fair.

Sammy Cougar shot a 12 over round to be 20 over for the tournament and 11 shots adrfit in 2nd. He got 5 players through the cut so has a flukers chance if some of Red's big names falter.

There are a lot of punters between 25-30 over, with Mopsy the stand out for the NAGA.

Please check the scores and let me know if you have any issues.

.also, its probably worth posting all cut scores of +4, easier to read
.not unusual for +4 to be in ur best 6 scores
.just confirming it is ur best 6 scores each round?

if so my score :
R1 10
R2 -3
R3 17
Total 24

Fantastic golf course. Obviously playing tough, especially on the greens. Very hard to read. Fast, slopey. But I tell you what, dunno if I’ve seen such a collection of incredibly bad wedge and pitch shots today.

What was going on with the 8th hole ? Some of the worst, clumpy swings you’ll ever see for a professional.

I’m favourite for the NAGA it seems.

Not sure what that is, but I’m guessing it’s not good :(

Edit just had a lil think about it and reckon I got it. Harsh but fair in this instance

Im pretty sure Ancer, if not a late withdrawal, would be -24 after 3 rounds, and I would be right up there in the firing line!

Watching the coverage Todd Sinnott is 2 under for his round and back to even for the tournament yet have not seen him play a shot!!! But they show every nondescript yank who are 6 or 7 or 8 over the card.
*smile*.
That's exactly demonstrating again one of the reasons I loathe the north American-centric bias of the coverage. I only have Kayo, but it's all controlled by Foxtel i.e. Murdoch, yer? The born Aussie who flogged off his nationality to get into the US media market to make more $$., right? So it's only fitting that "Ossies" get *smile* coverage! Or most other non-US nationalities FTM.
Don't get me started on the brillaint ad breaks for crap I'm not the least bit into usually, so you actually miss vital shots (for any non-US that is). Nor the tedious charity promotions that run for several minutes!! (understand its great for charities etc etc, but how surely 30 sec is enough).

Yeh, that was great viewing. I watched quite a bit of the coverage and you are spot on, the wedge play was pretty poor on the whole course. Having rough right up tot he fringes is obviously intimidating when it is blowing. Does it show how little they must play in such windy conditions?

Great seeing such a short par 3 cause such havoc, brilliant hole choice & pin position. Pity their sole camera view of the hole was pretty poor.

Snuffler at $7 is incredible value.
He looked like he was just going to blitz them but some poor wedge play cost him 4 quick shots.

Personally think Rahm wins but should be a great last round.

Is there a bigger fit chucker after a bad shot or putt than Jon Rahm ?

I don’t mind golfers berating themselves but when everything and anything is somebody or something else’s fault (eg the wind, the green, the lie etc etc), it really *smile* me.

My wallet wants Snuffler to win, but I’ll take Fitz, Clitatoris, Burns, Hadwin and especially Dahmen. Meh Rory. No to Rahm.

Amazing day of seesawing golf.

Looks like the weather is going to be even worse tonight so anything could happen.

I've liked Burns from the start but Fitzpatrick is my favourite now, best putter on the leaderboard.

Yeh, when he went off at the wind on 13 it was it was pretty funny. He does carry on as though everything is against him.

But he's got some steel, he made the bogey there from 7 feet and then birdied 3 of the next 4. He missed about 5 putts inside 12 feet IIRC. Yeh he made some but he didn't putt the lights out.

I'd like to see Zalatoris win it. Anyone but that wet blanket Bradley!

Was swearing like a bullock driver on a few occasions, karma finally caught up with him on 18. He was unlucky with his drive he smashed it and it was only a yard or 2 off being a great drive.
