Wheels fallen off at the Dees?

Short memories creep in every year when a club wins a flag for the first time in however long. Media narratives bang on about 'How this could be the start of a dynasty'.

Dynasties happen in retrospect and they're hard to achieve.

Ironically I don't remember anyone marking Richmond down for a dynasty following 2017, and look what happened.

Though the saving grace for Melbourne is, flags aren't won in Round 14 as any Tiger would know...
No, we were the worst side to win a Premiership after 2017, according to some in the media.

Saw a tweet last week showing the bottom 6 from 2019

13. Fremantle
14. St Kilda
15. Sydney
16. Carlton
17. Melbourne
18 Gold Coast

5 of them are in the top 8 and the other one is knocking on the door. What we all forget sometimes is that clubs will rise and fall, those that don’t are more an anomoly than the norm.

Even Essendon will rise again…. one day

Clayton Oliver just signed a 7 year extension. A Demon until 2030; will no doubt make him a one club player.

They still have Jackson and Brayshaw to re-sign. They would command fairly decent contracts, given the interest by other clubs
I reckon they are a chance at losing Brayshaw.

If they have to lose someone they will probably see him as the most likely.

Maybe a lesser light such as a Spargo or Harmes might also get squeezed out along the way.

The talk of Daniel McStay netting Brisbane a first round compensation pick cannot be real. If that eventuates the whole competition is an even bigger joke than I thought.

Jon Ralph said Collingwood offer 5 x 600 would net Brisbane first-round compo. That was the exact deal Brando got from GC and we got a second-rounder.

But Brisbane is an AFL expansion market franchise they will do anything to help succeed.

I heard this morning that Arsendon threw a massive offer at Rankine. Seriously, where the **** are them and Carlton getting all the money every year to throw big bucks at all these players at other clubs ???
