That’s right. I pointed that out a couple of months ago. When he had the reigns all to himself at Glenelg he was underwhelming.

He’s a bit of a networker Noble. And him and Ben Buckley are good mates.

Bad appointment.
terrible appointment. I suspected the reason he got the gig had to be due to his 'networking' skills, there never seemed to be any other compelling reason.

When it happened and the media went into the old 'he's a really good operator" AFL script, and I heard him speak, and I watched North play, I thought he must have some amazing Yoda, Mr Miagi, rope-a-dope mind power skills that I just can't see.

Then I saw him in the Stan doco going to HF's home to tell him they were drafting him at no. 1. Zero charisma, no charm, barely passable communication skills, nothing that said good coach, smart, or leader of young men.

I think its kind of funny we cop sacked coach week. Like most I thought it was inevitable, 100 to 1 on, then they gave a yelp against Collingwood and I thought wow, it won't happen, then it did! :clap1

you would think the "red hot crack" was that effort v Collingwood. Its probably not, but it feels like post most sacked coaches, Richmond is the next opponent

If we lose to North, no matter who is coaching them, there is no help for us.

Don’t they have some kid Coleman Jones or something like that…could be someone we’d consider….

What is the obsession with North parting ways with their coaches during the week they play Richmond?

They were hoping for a Pagan-like appointment but it's blown up in their face.
I honestly thought they'd let him coach out the season but sacked again super quickly.
They do seem to be a genuine shambles of a club.
Good luck to the next coach on the block.

You've gotta go NOW if you're gonna sack a coach so that you've got time to source a new one for 2023 and that they can be involved in the list management and recruiting decisions in 2022. To cut Noble some slack, that was something these fools at Norf didn't do when they appointed him. He came in after they'd already punted a heap pf players and were set on who they'd take in the Draft. He had no say on any of that at the end of 2020.

Has the Geoff Walsh review even finished?
Doesn't matter. If he knows he's going to sack Noble as part of that overall review outcome, he needs to move NOW on Noble. If he doesn't, then they're just making the very same mistake all over again that they made in 2020.

Walsh knows that. They gotta pull the string now.

It's not exactly a ringing endorsement for Noble that Walsh spent one game in the coaches box, and that was enough to knife him.

True, but Walsh has been working on this for a few weeks now. He'd have gathered a pretty good landscape speaking to everyone around the club, and observing things outside of the coach's box.

Fair point.(y)
He must be a pretty hopeless coach though to do it so hastily. Their problems obviously run a lot deeper than just the coach.

Was he just reviewing the football department or the entire club? If the latter there should be a few nervous execs.

I'm sure it's written into every opposition coaches contract that "you will resign or be sacked before a Ricmond game"

Noble knew his position was untenable. You can’t have an outsider who is reviewing you sitting in the coaches box during the most stressful part of your job. That is a message from the club telling him it was all over and forcing him to go to the board to end it.
