SMIIIIIIIIIIFFF !

That was *** awesome. Nervous going watching that. What a round. Really got it going on the back 9. Clutch putt on 17. Gutsy putting all day in fact.

Rory just couldn't get the ball close enough to the hole to be able to make anything. Left himself long putts over and over. Young was tremendous. Very nervy looking putter on the front 9 and then a mistake or two on the back 9 but never ever quit.

But the Queenslander was too gutsy !!!! Yeah !!!!

Yeah, Young, Reds. Big balls.

Shame Scott had that double on 12 when he was putting something together but as it turns out he would have had to shoot 61 anyway.

Now, more importantly, who's the PRE prognosticating champion?

Smith -20
Scott -10
Lowry -9
Kisner -9
Garcia -2
Bezuidenhout -2
Simpson CUT
Homa CUT
Total -52

Interesting they asked Smith about rumours of him jpoining LIV in the press conference - he was clearly pissed at the question. But didn't deny it.

Personally I'm so happy he beat Rory, the media have lumped a whole lot more pressure on Rory by nominating him as Sir bloody Lancelot.
Rory is the Geelong of Golf.
Great upto the the 3rd rnds.
What a back 9 by Cam though.

How was Smith's two-putt up and down on 17 from almost behind the Road Hole bunker. Nerves of steel and silken touch. He holed everything on the back 9. Best final 9 by a major winner since Jack at the '86 Masters?

You may have done better than that. It's the best 6 scores each day, did Mitchell or Morikawa have a better score on days one or two than any of your other guys?

Oh right, I thought it was just the total score under par at the end of the 4 rounds.

Round 1 Morikawa had a 72 when Horschel had 73 and Meronk 75. So would that gain me one shot?

Round 2 Mitchell had 69 but it didn't beat anyone else's score in my top 6.

Fleetwood - 14
Cantlay - 12
Lowry - 9
Hatten - 11
Bezuidenhout - 2
Jordan Smith - 5

Wyndham Clarke +4

Correct, you drop your 2 worst scores Rd 1 & 2 and 3&4 if lucky enough to get all 8 through the cut
