If we get Taranto and Hopper, the AFL may as well hand us the 2023 premiership now!

As far as I'm concerned 2022 is over. Don't care who wins this year.
But WOW ! bring on 2023

One thing it will certainly do is give us all a refresh of renewed optimism moving forward if we landed both.

Dion Shai Martin Taranto Hopper Cotchin Ross Sonsie Short Graham Baker, pretty handy options to run through the middle next season

Picking up two players from the team that finished 13th doesn't seem like a sure-fire way to make finals.

We are not Essendon supporters. Winning the trade period doesn't mean much in itself. Let's just wait and see how things pan out next year.

Maybe not but instantly solving our biggest issue with a side that arguably should have been top 4 already should get tigers fans excited

Nothing is certain. We may not even make the finals. They didn't help GWS make them this year.
neither did Prestia and Caddy - but just takes a few to inject what is needed and give place a fresh lift, along with the new young blokes

Exactly, we still have holes to plug in our list, in particular KPFs (especially if Lynch goes down), as the 2 youngsters on our list are unproven at AFL level. We also need to make some adjustments around defending the ground better, whether that's game style or personnel, or a combination of both.

Got to fix our backline / defensive plays. The lions goal played again and again since was just as poor a defensive execution as we have seen in 2022! Love Rutten to come back and take control of the defence again. Make them one mean measly unit again !

But we've managed that many times in the past. We panicked. How many times have we seen Nank take the big mark down back in the dying minutes. The other defenders block and give Nank the space to take the mark and we're good. This time we all decided to fly for the ball and instead of marking or killing it, we tapped it into an empty goal mouth where we weren't.

The reality is we were 1 fARCial decision away from being favourites to win our way into a prelim against our finals bunnies before a GF at our MCG fortress against some mob from interstate, and now we are looking to add 2 young a-grade midfielders. seriously the AFL rules committee are going to have to come up some A-grade *smile* to stop us in 2023 and beyond.
