My mother in law is a big fan. Tells the story about going along to a concert in 1982 when Stevie was incapable of performing. Totally off her tits on cocaine, alcohol and whatever else she was consuming at the time. So it was Christine who needed to carry the load and did most of the vocals by herself to ensure the show went on, while Stevie presumably collapsed backstage, high as a kite and drunk as a skunk.

Wow. Very similar story regarding Stevie.

My first boss did crowd control in his younger days. One night was working at the front of the stage at a Fleetwood Mac concert. Early 80's I am pretty sure.

Stevie Nicks was like an absolute zombie. Basically stood right at the front of the stage in front of a mic and just swayed.

But to cap it off, she was wearing a very short dress and no knickers. She had no idea that the guys working the front of the stage were getting a full view!

After making this comment, I was chatting to my mother in law about it last night. She added that not only was Stevie off her tits, incapable of performing. She actually was incapable of standing up. Some of the roadies actually had to scrape her up and carry her off stage, never to be seen again for the evening.

I remember reading the Micheal Chugg book, ‘hey you in the black shirt’ and him telling a story about when Fleetwood Mac toured in the 70’s.
He went to their room back stage and found a heap of expensive champagne bottles open but they were all still full. Turns out they’d smuggled coke in the corks, so we’re just opening them to get to the corks. Pretty crafty. Still I reckon I’d wash down the coke with some champagne if I was them.

I read somewhere that her nose just collapsed due to all the coke she hoovered down over the years.
Here’s one article, plenty more

I got the chance to go backstage before a Fleetwood Mac concert at Rod Laver when Christine McVie had just started touring with them again.

Fair to say she was the only normal person in a very eccentric group of people.

I have seen her state in several interviews that the nasal wall was on the verge of collapsing if she snorted anymore. Scans showed a wafer thin remaining wall between her nasal cavity and brain cavity. Doctors warned Stevie her life was in imminently grave danger if she continued to snort.

She states that it was an epiphany that made her realise that she needed to get off the stuff.

This clip is so bad its good.

Never understood the angst towards Dazza. Can sing, dance and drum. Also great to see the legend Gra Gra with his funny comments.

Yeah me neither. Hey Hey was a product of it's time nothing more. And it was a staple of Australian life in the 80's and 90's.

Yep and sadly missed. This country lacks live entertainment shows badly.

So true. The late 90's era of Rove on a Tuesday at 9.30 and Wednesay nite with the Panel, then the Footy Show Thursday was the last time we had anything of quality.
