Movies

Had the misfortune of putting myself through watching Clerks 3 the other night.

As someone who loved Dogma, and really enjoyed Clerks 2 and Jay & Silent Bob, I have nothing positive to say about this moving.

Can I have that hour and forty back.. pleeeease???

Yeah, Kev's last few have been ordinary.

Clerks 3, Yoga Hosers, Tusk. Even Clerks 2.

Well, watched all 5 of the Dirty Harry movies. Good fun. Big time throwback. Some familiar names. Great San Francisco scenes.

Only one thing: the 3rd movie - The Enforcer (1976) - is a bit of a stinker. Ok, some of the acting etc in all of the movies isn’t of the highest quality but The Enforcer is terrible, as is the plot and some of the absurdly fake action scenes. No co- incidence I don’t think that Clint directs the next one Sudden Impact (1983) which is much better.

But all of them were pretty cool and very easy to watch.

“Who’s we sucker ?”

“Smith and Wesson …and me.”

Saw M.Night Shyamalan 's A Knock at the Cabin on the weekend.

It was ok I suppose but if you want to make your own mind up stop reading.

High on style but the concept was hard to swallow & a bit gimmicky.
Like many of his films it felt like a Twilight Zone episode drawn out into a movie.

Is that the one with the female partner? I keep thinking Tightrope was also a Dirty Harry film. Nearly time for me to watch these again.

Yeah that’s it. What’s her name Tyne Daly - the chick that did other tv shows - is his short lived partner. She’s VERY ordinary in it as are a number of others. The action scenes are very bad too especially near the end, out on Alcatraz.

I always keep thinking Harry Belafonte passed away years ago. Gene Hackman also going strong at that age , and recently watched a small doco with Mel Brooks in it. This man looks 90s but still thinks and speaks 40s. Legend.

Eva Marie Saint still looking lovely at her age. I recorded North by Northwest on the IQ the other day as I can still remember it (like the back of my hand) but haven't seen it for a while....so.....might as well watch it.

Yeah I think a few people get mixed up with Sidney Poitier man, for a second before I had to stop and think didn't he go last year, nah that was Poitier.
