Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Maybe he should play in a blindfold? Or at least a set of blinkers and a nose roll?

I am certain the glasses are a fashion thing, not prescription.

I recall Dimma saying as much a couple of years ago when describing Noah as a strange cat

McKay is a pretty good player and not sure anyone else could have played on him and done any better. He did keep him to 1.2 so that was a positive.

He'll keep playing.
Yeah, 2 marks inside 50 and 3 scoring shots isn't a bad outcome against McKay.

Just a reminder that Noah is out of contract at the end of this year..
With other defensive options soon to return he's got to get his act together & return to the form he showed a couple of years go now.
Hopefully plays better against the Crows assuming he's picked.

Miller could potentially take his spot.

The negativity around this guy here is lunacy.

There will be some silly looking posts in a few years time.

I have heard that Balta had some eye laser surgery, hopefully it's cleared up any problems for him.

Rance would have been the perfect master for Balta. The perfect influence on the field and would have made a huge difference in his development.

Agree, jumping at shadows. Nowhere near as bad as made out.
He was due for a spike in performance.
He hasn’t improved since coming back from injury.
Had a very ordinary final against Brisbane and has looked low on confidence in all games played this year ( included the practice matches )
If he is to become the player we’d hoped for, he needs to take a step up.
He has all the physical tools. Not sure about the mental capacity

Agree. Been out of form for most of 2022 (got told to lose weight and get fitter incidentally) and now his two pre season games and 1st round game as well. Basic errors and fumbles he never used to make. Falling over in contests. 3rd up spoil that he used to be good at is lacking.

We need him in this team playing better, even if Young, Miller and Tarrant present options.

I think the frustration is at his lack of progress. He looked like he could be our new Rance type formidable defender. Would not have traded him for any other key defender 2 years ago. But he's stagnated. Gone backwards really. Not sure if that move up the ground has been of any benefit at all.

Wouldn't be in the best 10 key defenders in the AFL on performance right now. Let's hope he gets his confidence back.

BTW I wouldn't swap him for anyone right now, I'm a long term fan.

Back to the old days on here lately if someone has a bad game or if you point out or question performance in the short term you get the "you will look silly in a few years" comments. Lot of flowers being sniffed.

Great post spot on.

Balta's footy IQ has always been like the AI that can't detect traffic lights. Shifting him around for his entire career hasn't helped. He needs to be settled in defence, but he also has a new crew around him that isn't settled either, and it's not helping Noah to have to be the number 1 KPD.

Must use his leg to clear defense and zones more - should be banned from kicking ball under 35m.
