Welcome to Tigerland Jacob Bauer

Would be one of the best marks on the list, would like to see him play as a lead up forward, Jack can't do it anymore.
We need more aerial strength up front, would rather Bauer in the forward line to give us some marking power, with Marlion back to his wing.

Nobody is saying he is the answer. But why draft him? We actually need a second marking player down there and there is nobody else. Just have a look at him.. . Why will he play at some stage, why not now
Jack is just exhausted as the only tall forward amongst a bunch of mids and Mansell.
Exactly, he has a good leap on him and can bring the ball to ground which is what we need. Has sticky mitts too so can take some good grabs. Being wasted down back IMO with the depth of backmen we currently have

Bauer is not the answer. There is a reason he was picked up in the mid season draft. We're not all of a sudden going to become a finals team by introducing an MSD pick. Our problems run a lot deeper than that.
If we don't give him a chance when we have no forwards then we will never know. Jack needs a rest, Marlion is not full forward and nor is Cotch

A forward Hardwick is trying to turn into a defender..
No wonder we haven't got any kids coming through.
There confidence is shot to pieces.
He turns up last yr kicking 2 or 3 goals in games and 12 months later we are turning him into Bailey Dale.

Spot on was kicking 2 or 3 in games. Go figure puzzling mate, and his not the only kid we have done that. I reckon our development is a issue.Put him in his position.

He is a 20yo tall, maybe they think he has a future, but isnt ready yet.
Yeah but we’re sorta desperate for a taller forward after that Essendon game , I have never seen the opposition mark the ball so easily and run it out so easily as that game. And Jack is exhausted and banged up

The even more puzzling thing is he played the first two VFL games forward and kicked 3.1 and 3.2. Then moved to defence.

Why make a decision to turn him into a defender after 2 good games. Why wouldn't he have started the season there?

Bauer is listed as 192cm and 86kg, he has a good leap and good mobility but nothing special. He would be thrown around like a rag doll by the likes of Darcy Moore at 203cm and 100kg, or Harris Andrews at 202cm and 100kg or Steven May at 193cm and 101kg.

He has a much better shot at an AFL career as a defender than he does as a key forward given his size.

He doesn't need to play that number one forward role very easy and was never expected to that's no exuse for me.

Mihocek is 192cm and Fritsch 188cm, who's to say he might be as good as them, we won't know though if he isn't given a go.

Agree with this. A smaller KPF with a leap actually gives us something different. Perhaps a Fritsch type of difference?

Van Rooyen 193cm. Similar player to Bauer too (and Bauer could mask the disaster that was picking Tom Brown instead of Van Rooyen)

Yep.

An even bigger one is selecting CCJ instead Oscar Allen, it would be massive if we had him on our list.

We had 2 picks in the top 20 in the 2017 draft and neither of them are on our list.

Jack's heart is still there but his body is crying enough is enough. If they play him every other match he will manage but without lynch he is carrying the whole forward load and it is taking its toll

With Dimma having left the building, I wonder whether Jacob fortunes might change. I'd love to see him make his debut against Port........as a forward.

Bauer doesn't enter calculations for a debut until we change the way we deliver inside 50. If people expect he'll come in and start taking overhead contested pack marks and sitting on guys shoulders, the kid may as well pack his bags and leave now. Our forward 50 entries are deplorable. Maybe he asked to be moved to defence! I wouldn't blame him.
