Has Dimma indicated he wants to coach again...and is this GC talk just speculation?
Do not know but makes huge sense for the AFL to throw $M at him. Would stop player defections sort of last chance saloon exercise there. Even if it happens will never thank him enough for 2017 in my declining years. Was privileged to see Billy Barrett and Mike Greens efforts in 69 and Balme's huge goal in 74 but the 2017 win was something I never expected to see again.

He hasn't ruled it out. GC talk is speculation I guess but if he likes the idea of retiring to Qld and having the AFL fund that retirement, GCS would be an ideal team for him to resume his coaching with.

Or Tassie.

It was also speculation that Dimma wouldn't see out his contract and that proved to be right.

Dimma will coach again - that's speculation, but he will. He's too good not to.

Timing is everything and while the accolades for Hardwick are flowing thick and fast, and much deserved, I wished he had taken off to America at the end of the ‘22 season as just plain old Mr Hardwick, having already stepped down as the coach of the Tigers.

Ten games into a season and “jumping ship” with a smile and spring in your step is bloody lousy timing in my opinion!
It is but many of us have had to come to decisions about our future or a job and making big decisions is hard. Sometimes it just takes time and you have to be ready.

I know I have been in the situation so as much as I agree with the bad timing I find it hard to criticise him for it.

I hope he does .. just not for Essendon, Geelong or Carlton.
Yeah that'll be worse. I'm still fuming about Fly at Scumwood. Had it been GWS or GC or even the Aints I wouldn't mind.

Dimma leaving breaks my hope he would coach long term with 2 maybe 3 generations like Bill Belichick of the NE Pats in the NFL, Fergo of Manure and even Sheedy.

Dimma appears to be the type that cognisantly wishes to not burn his bridges with anyone (AFL included), leaving the door open for any potential vacancies when he returns from his coaching hiatus.

He said more than once during his presser that he loves coaching and just needs a break.

That doesn’t sound like he’s done with coaching to me, and clubs will come for him, hard.

Depending on how the seasons pan out for each club you'd have to think West Coast the Gold Coast and Port will all make a pitch for him.

If the Blues axe Crazy Vossy now it will destroy them, but in 18 month time if things haven't improved for them they too might make a play for him.

Balme said Dimma is genuine. is Flat and will take time awy. Fully expects and wants him to coach again. believes he will get an offer from somewhere that big it would be hard to turn down.
I dont think Dimma has anything planned. According to Balme the longer he is out the more attractive the offers will be. so you may not see him coach until 2025.
