Round 12: the haemorrhoid flare up games.

I know it’s “only” Hawthorn but Port look great.
But we shoulda/coulda beat them last week. Umps just ensured we didn't/weren't ever going to, along with our own weaknesses ... like only one worn out marking forward.

CCJ was never a need, he's a classic tweener, too spindly for the ruck, not physical enough for a key forward role. That to me was a pick from an inexperienced recruiter. I personally wanted Sam Taylor but Allen would have been fine too, the list of key forwards slipping through the net is mounting at an alarming rate. Lewis (2016), Larkey (2016), Allen (2017), Van Rooyen (2021) Keeler (2022). Having watched a bit of Keeler in the VFL last weekend I'd say we've missed another one, the concerns about work rate unfounded, he was chasing down players, tackling and most importantly, applying scoreboard pressure. I think Clarke suffers from a SOS blindspot, the only difference being his Achilles heel is tall forwards and not midfielders.
Here's another one I just remembered. The Aints took Caminiti from the SSP start of the year. Only 19 but 196/85. Not starring yet, but did the job very well for a highly inexperienced, skinny kid with King and Membrey both out. Looks promising ... even tackles. And the Aints won early games too; helped.

They are there if you really dig into your research. Missed and forgotten due to an injury. Maybe like Buller ....

Spirited fight back by WC that quarter.

But sustained another 3 injuries , so going to a tough ask from here with only 1 player to interchange.

Did they spend all their tickets with adrenaline?
