I don’t think he really wants the senior gig. Some guys are good at being assistants, and they’re happy with it. McQualter could be one of them.
Then why go through the process at Richmond.

What a disaster it would have been had the club appointed someone who doesn’t really want to be a senior coach to the role of senior coach.

Sounds like he doesn’t know what he wants but you need to be all in as a senior coach.

Much better for the club and himself that he didn’t get the gig

So you believed that poster based on what ?
I was just responding to the premise that Mini might not want to be a senior coach. I responded by saying if that’s the case why did he go through the process and it’s for the best that he didn’t get the job.

I never said I believed it, nor did the poster claim it to be a fact, we were just having a conversation, and one that’s It’s not that hard to follow really.

Yeah right, I just can’t believe how gullible people are, it was obvious he wanted to be a senior coach as the opinion has no basis whatsoever.

Right move by Mini. Gold Coast, Eagles and Bulldogs would have been the worst moves. Stepping into the controlling role in the Dees coaches box will stand him in besy stead.

From our perspective out Dimma, Mini and D and in Yze and Lambert seems light on. Hopefully we have a Cam Bruce or another bloke to come in.

Agree the announcement of Mini to Dees hours before.out B&F was *smile* worm bu whoever arranged that

I agree TT, which is the point I was trying to make (clearly not well enough). You wouldn’t put yourself through the process if you didn’t want the job.
But as I said the poster never claimed it to be a fact, just raised it as a possibility

Announced officially late last night as off to the Dees. A good step personally on the face of it.
Really. A man that’s played second fiddle for a decade to a cast of others with the nickname “mini” who some revere on this site with such reverence, because he is a good guy?

I’m pleased he’s moved on and the Tigers can focus on the future with some quality new coaching and ideas.

I think it’s time a few here move on as well and stop wallowing in the past.

Odd attack. The players especially seem to think McQualter has been great & many said as much last night.
Nothing lasts forever but clearly he's been a very good assistant for us over a very successful period.
Now he gets another opportunity.

Not an attack. Just tired of the wafting on about Hardwick and this guy. It was time to move on at the end of the 2022 season but the club wasted that opportunity.

As for the players comfortable with what they know - nothing knew there but they also need to improve by moving on with a new coach.

If we were honest to ourselves, we knew this couldn’t work and Mini knew it too!

Yze offered ‘the leaf’ but he chose to leave.

So who do we turn too or poach.

Yze needs another assistant.

One out of the game. Recently retired. Fresh eyes to the modern game, maybe?

By all accounts a great assistant coach, and an important part of our premierships. Best of luck to him
