Trade Talk Radio 2023

It’s official, the barometer has broken.

Rhys Mathieson and the Blions have parted ways. I’m sure he,ll enjoy playing QAFL in 2024.

Longmire is a desperate little man
10 year offers
11 million dollar offers
Chasing anyOne with a heart beat.
But still the worse back 6 in the comp

I think it is more to do with their business model than what Longmire wants to be honest. They love their big gun forwards in Sydney, and have to throw the house at them to get them.

This move forced the Doggies into a contract with Naughton they probably didn’t want. These long term deals have a habit of backfiring.

So in all, the rest of the comp are probably the winners here.

Overrated coach. But a smart coach..didn't take the north job because he knew he would be unemployed in 3 yrs time.
Stay in Sydney pick the eyes out of the Sydney Academy's that produce the likes of Mills & Gulden & Blakey and then every 6 yrs chase the biggest name in the comp.
Easy....

Any love for Trent Bianco from the pies?

I liked him as a junior.

They seem to have played him down back but I reckon he's a genuine mid.

Gws want him out..he is owed 800k next year.
We get him for 2 yrs @300k a year Gws pay the $200k
And they give us pick 6 back or pick 13
This is smartest play of the trade period if we pull it off. Even paying his full 800 for the first year may be be doable with our retirements. Best way to get back in the game and provides cover if we miss any tall trade targets.

Not sure its allowed to get pick 6 back.
Can't we ask the AFL for assistance?
North always asks for more draft picks?
Sydney always asks for more Cap space?
Collingwood ask the umpires to ignore free kicks?
What about us? We are only standing at the counter of a corner shop!

Why aren't we after any free agents? Thought we are a destination club with cap space? We haven't had a decent FA since Lynch. Have we dropped the ball?

No use getting a free agent just for the sake of it. That’s Essington thinking. The choice of free agents this year is pretty average
Hartley is much more selective in who he chases. Quality, not quantity.

We haven't had cap space for a while. Taranto and Hopper were attracted with spare cap space.
