Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Great game kicked 3 goals played as 2nd ruck even to backline when needed :clap2

I was pissed off when he was moved back.

That was a loser move.

Trying to protect a loss rather than chase a win.

Balta was our best and most dangerous forward tonight. For a half. Then moved back he competed all the way to a loss.

Be brave Yze. Balta is a forward.

It was a typical Balta-as-forward performance. Took a couple of grabs, didn't convert, and went missing for most of the game. Looked better when he ran up the ground as a marking link-man, but, meh. Negligible influence on proceedings.

I honestly believe that if you plonked Miller in the forward line instead of Balta you'd get pretty much the same return in terms of forward presence, without robbing the backline of a guy who, at his best, is imperious.
What absolute crap.

Da Fuq?

That was an emerging superstar. BOG by a street. Yeah. Smarts? What.

He was better than I ever hoped he'd be. BTW it's possible that Yze knows he should have moved TJL back - not Noah.

Noah's challenge is to do it again. That's been his main challenge for five years or so.

Lose Young and Gibcus, what do you do, played forward ruck and defence. our best player except for the grubbered short pass resulting in goal.

Has a number of brain fades but you can't deny he puts his heart and soul into every match. Today he was one of the main reasons we didn't get a hammering

Apart from that kick, he was an utter beast tonight. He brings a fast and heavy load when contesting in the air. He frightens the *smile* out of everyone. Took some real aggressive marks.

Big tick.

I get the need, but it's essentially giving up to obliterate your forward line to protect your backs.

Grimes and Vlossy play taller. Baker pushes back. You sacrifice the couple of McKay goals, and put the pressure on them to cover Balta and Lynch. Our two tall forwards kicked 5 goals in just over a half before Balta was moved back. Then they kicked none.

We couldn't afford not to have him back though tonight. Grimes had just been killed by Mackays height at the start of the 3rd, we simply had to move him back or Mackay would have kicked a bag in the 2nd half alone.

It was a shame as he looked brilliant in the forward line tonight. I really do hope I eat my words as I haven't been sure of him as a forward, prefer him back but he was an absolute superstar tonight both forward and back.

That looked like emergence. A lot like it.

Yze saw it that way. That's why he moved Noah behind the ball when he wanted to save the game. He trusted the talent and leadership of Noah Balta. How did Noah go? He was *smile* awesome.

Wow.

I get it, but it's a loser move.

You gotta risk it to get the biscuit. Make them nervous, don't make them comfortable.

We shouldve had Sammy Taylor or Oscar Allen.

Love the way he knows he can burn off just about every key defender running at goal. Gonna kick a bunch like that.
