It was infuriating. There was a delay and my first thought was "surely they cannot get away with not paying that!!!"There was a free paid to Mansell in the 3rd quarter which he goaled from, it was pretty obvious. Controlling umpire is standing boundary side looking straight at it, refuses to pay it. Non controlling umpire from the centre of the field comes running along and pays the free correctly. Why does the non controlling ump have to over rule an umpire closer for a decision that is stone wall, it wasn't even a 50/50, more like a 90/10 and the controlling umpire from 10m away won't pay it. That tells me there is clearly a conscious or unconscious bias.
Surely the club can prepare a video highlighting the inconsistency? They would have that much footage and data. I'd volunteer to go through it.Less talking about it and more action required.
They’re like sailors trying to fly a jumbo 747The AFL has gone to 4 umpires so no frees are missed but what we see is umpires who don’t know the rules, are incapable of making decisions and are totally inconsistent in their interpretation of the rules
I reckon there are man years of work to do it right. Need to crowd source it somehow.Surely the club can prepare a video highlighting the inconsistency? They would have that much footage and data. I'd volunteer to go through it.
Except when he's commentating, I don't mind Dwayne. We are currently 2nd last for average frees for. That will change by next week, and we will be last. Again.
Dwayne Russell is one guy who is onto the rort. He's said a couple of times the last few weeks that he used to follow the media crowd when it came to Richmond i.e. that it was our game style (bullsht) that caused a big free kick differential blah blah blah.
But he admitted he was wrong. He said he went back over years of data and the issue is that Richmond get so few free kicks from the umpires compared to every other team in the league and that this was the real issue. He correctly pointed out that Richmond doesnt play some "strange style" that solicits so fewer frees than the other 17 teams.
He questioned what was going on in the umpiring department where the officiating of Richmond games was concerned and that answers needed to be provided where the lack of frees paid to us was concerned.
Yeah. Good luck with that.

Chook *smile* at AFL HQ?I honestly think the only change would come through member action.
We somehow force RFC hand to take a stand.
Not sure how.
I just want to walk away from one game thinking the umpires reamed the other team. Just one.
They would fine us into bankruptcy.I honestly think the only change would come through member action.

If i was boss, i wouldnt send a team to gather round.
Forfeit and say were not *smile* playing until we get officiated like everyone else
The data is there - its one pie chart showing free differential by club for the last decade
The data supports it, our eyes support it. Everpne but TBR sees it.
We get the rough end of the stick, at our home ground, and away.
Umps clearly hate richmond.
Why? Maybe because we hate them?
Vindictivness is standard human and umpires are human.
I dunno? Havnt heard a decent explaination of a profoundly significant data set yet.
Jack Reiwoldt was absolutely giving it to them in the commentary box.
I dont reckon hell be there long.
Jon horn guardian sees most things footyAnd how many pointless reviews do we get now? Even the goal umps are useless.
They would fine us into bankruptcy.
