Game Day - Tiges V Swans

Just got off the train at Moorabbin

Great win of effort/persistence beating skill.

We really were beating them everywhere except when we shot outselves in the foot.

How vlaustin doesn’t have an AA is a joke - that guy is crazy good.

Happy for yze as he has been a really calm figure so far and making good in game moves.

Brutal he cops another injury to lynch. Lynch looked really solid today winning 1:1s and providing outlet leads. Really straightened us up and actually thought we became a little too lunch focused late.

Great win!

I think the most pleasing thing was the 4 quarter effort ,

And was also pretty cool to see the way the players embraced yze after the song, they genuinely seem to like him, it’s hard to fake that stuff

I am in shock, we won the free kick count today
And look what happens. It's arguable we are 3-1 if those umps handled all our games. Amazing the difference it makes.

Perhaps lafau is slow as far as when he's spent? Was fastest sprint on ground at over 34 km p.h wow quick
Lefau ain't slow - he is quick.Balta like speed.

He just doen't know where he needs to be as yet, but watch out when he does start to work it out.

The distance he's cover has been pivottal to us being in this. Couple of shanks, but also some strong play. Go and nuke your imaginary membership card.

McIntosh, Pickett and MRJ were so important today. In ways that are hard to appreciate on TV. ALL made stupid errors, but the swans were under legitimate pressure all day, and these guys were the drivers.

Also helped that we finally had a structurally competitive backline.

Just got home from the game, pumped is an understatement. Not sure what it is about Sydney but we have some epic games when we think we are down against them.

Brilliant team effort today, loved the team defence today, how good was it to see our tackles stick.

I loved to see what we have been trying the last 3 games, which was our game style. We've seen the focus on clearance in all 4 games, but today was the 1st time I think we saw the rest click, the much shorter kicks to a mark enabling us to control the game better. We totally struggled with this last week, where we didn't take those marks which then led to rushed disposal. Really loved seeing the change in style coming out.

The 2nd half was without doubt the best I have seen MRJ play. His tackles stick, needs to clean up some of his disposal, but some of his in the 2nd half were great, clearly he is focused on opening the corridor up, sometimes it works, other times its a massive turnover, we need to get used to seeing this type of thing as I think its Yze's plan to play through the corridor whenever we can.

Really strong performance all round though from pretty much everyone. Very pleased tonight.

MRJ took a leap forward today.

He's always had the chase down tackles but something seemed to click today and he started to also really join in the attacks. Made a couple of horrible mistakes but kept his head up, remained composed with the footy and played the best game of his career so far.

Who would have thought after 4 rounds we'd be wedged between the two grand finalists.

that's a huge win - everyone put in today ... kids grew up a little out there ..

curious... where have all the half time naysayers gone? "60 point drubbing" someone said

do these types even support RFC?
100%. That attitude *smile* me.

That's what I noticed in the reserves last week. I think as we develop this will become more prominent. I think the AFL match centre commentary said we were uo 40 on uncontested possessions from last week. Players like Brown Campbell Sonsie and Yze believes Banks will improve our ability to play this game.

I didn't see the game but congrats to Maurice. I did see his last play where he turned a three on zero 15 metres out into a point (sans siren) so still needs to work on his offence. Yze was quite glowing but also realistic in that they have to coach Maurice to take a breath when he gets the ball. Looks like he has a good handle and also backs himself in. He said not only his tackles but his work in defensive structures is spot on, they actually show his stuff to others.
