2021 Draft Thread

More info on Davis can be found here.

and here
Zane Trew made it onto a list last year (WCE)
There is a chance that Ollie Davis does too.

Speed and decision making /not banging it long are where he needs to improve

just watched Qld V Tassie U19.

player that caught my eye was Ollie Davis Tassy onballer No.3.

very Trent Cotchin. hunts the ball through congestion. tackles hard. gets better the longer the game goes on and the closer it gets.

think you'll get a look at him Allies V S.A next week?
Don't ever compare Cotchin to an 18 yr old kid called Ollie.
Cotchin is a once in w generation footballer.
His middle name is Trent 'Halley' Cotchin.
He only comes around once every 75 years

Grimes was a PSD. McGovern pick 44. Lever 14. Taylor pick 28.

You can see why clubs would look at that intercept role or player a bit later.
Stewart 44, Ridley 20-something. The meeja makes them out to be superstars, seemingly failing to notice the outnumber and illegal blocking that goes on.

If they were as good as the hype they'd play forward.

Gibcus is more than just a intercepting defender. He can also play as a lockdown defender.

Gibcus and Ward are almost certain to be picks 5 and 6. Hence our interest in trading up to GC or Adelaides pick

Its a tough call. We need them all.
With KPF i reckon you only pick the cream of the crop, not the best for that year. So some years its not worth picking a tall.

The onballer needs to become elite starting mid. We have future depth mids but need that future superstar.
I like Ward and Sonsie.
Think we will get a good one at 7
Same .

Not sure you trade up for a defender in a side that is desperate for class and pace to round out a side tilting at a flag.

If we trade up it’s a mid for sure.

As you know, another CGS boy.
Great intercept marker. Really thought he’d make an impact.
Cant remember how he tested?
Then again it took Alex Rance a couple of years.
Yeah saw him play heaps at CGS, was more of a key forward then and dominated. His testing was fine just hasn’t clicked at Crows but neither has the club as a whole in the time he’s been there.

They don't have a choice. Either they trade into this year, or the deficit they take forward from Daicos comes off their 1st next year. We should look to trade 1 of our 2nds for their 2nd next year.

If we get 38 for Tarrant and 37 for Chol. I'd also be comfy using 1 to get Lipinski to the Pies. The Dogs get 38 or 37, Pies get Lipinski and we get the Pies 3rd next year.

Then completely deathride the heck out of the Pies
There won't be much need to deathride them, not that we need an excuse. They'll have to trade players out just to get Daicos in, they have no currency to get anyone in. They are a shambles atm

Davis played well and has a consistent body of work over several years. It was Sanders n0.5 that got my attention, thought he was BOG

It seems the mistakes by Buckley and Ned Guy will have them treading water for a very long time.
it's brilliant.
Their fans haven't even figured it out yet, they still think they can trade players in. There must be a way of doing that that everyone else isn't aware of...

If the trade up rumours to 3 or 4 are true, you could almost guarantee that’s in order to secure a mid.

add Lever as well. J.Gibson was also a 3rd man in specialist as is Sicily

IMO even if we stay with 7 we go a mid. Clarke hinted at it on the "road to Draft" podcast. Gibcus may not be there regardless, GWS already have too many mids so surely they don't grab another one
