Homosexuality was just one of many things Folau railed against. Fifty years ago you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who disagreed with the gist of it, religious or not. Today such things are increasingly tolerated, and Folau is pilloried and apparently may be sacked.

While we all like to think we're of fundamentally good character, maybe Muslims have it right after all and we really are losing our moral compass.

Unfortunately Folau is a rabid Christian, anyone that ignorant should be treated with caution.

Haha, there's another one on that site with a crude title that takes the *smile* out of both sides.

I see that Qantas has joined the Folau pile-on:

Major Wallabies sponsor Qantas, which threatened to pull its sponsorship last year following a series of provocative posts from Folau, hit out over the Waratahs flyer’s post.

“These comments are really disappointing and clearly don’t reflect the spirit of inclusion and diversity that we support,” a Qantas statement to AAP said. https://www.news.com.au/sport/rugby/angry-backlash-to-israel-folaus-antigay-comments/news-story/6e598d7d5808cc3a1ac052953194fc5c

Complete hypocrites! They are in partnership with the airline Emirates which is 'an airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The airline is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which is wholly owned by the government of Dubai's Investment Corporation of Dubai ...' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_(airline)

In the UAE the rights of the LBTGI are heavily surpressed: 'Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights are heavily suppressed in the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah, which together form the United Arab Emirates. All sexual relations outside a heterosexual marriage is a crime. Punishments range from jail time, floggings, beatings, torture, death, fines and deportation if you are a non-citizen. Adultery and fornication are also crimes punished with death, and a person convicted of homosexuality may also face charges of adultery if they have an opposite-sex spouse while having sexual relations with a person of the same sex.[5]' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_the_United_Arab_Emirates

So Qantas is only interested in LGBTI rights so long as it doesn't get in the way of turning a quick buck!

Nah it's OK so long as it is a Christian!

Not sure how smart he is or whether he's being advised, but it's possible Folau has been deliberately provocative to bring the issue of persecution of the church to a head.

This Wiki graphic is interesting. Although atheism is growing rapidly, it punches above its weight when it comes to being heard.

http://thestocktontimes.com/2019/04/12/full-time-mummy-loses-her-job-after-she-tells-her-son-hes-going-to-hell-for-lying/?fbclid=IwAR0W1V23iG10GLZHnsZMAPQKOq4dB4m8qIC_cFqqbV3m5RqIDJKwBAONJqo

A full time mum has lost her role in the motherhood fraternity after posting a controversial status to a Facebook motherhood page.

Mrs Leslie Simpson came under fire from the rest of the group after she posted a status implying fibbers, criers and children who don’t wash behind their ears go to hell unless they repent.

Leading the outrage was self confessed but dubious yummy mummy Joanna Wells, who described motherhood as the most respected profession in the land.

“Mothers are role models to hundreds of young children. We’re the most respected members of our society.” she said.

“Young children look up to us like the heroes we believe ourselves to be and we can’t have a member of our team spouting this kind of religious hate speech.”

Another full time mother, Susan Wilkes, took time out of her busy schedule of pushing her son on a swing while wearing pyjamas to also condemn the post.

“Just imagine being a young child now and having someone tell you you’re going to hell simply because you lied about who put dirt in the handbag.”

“We have a responsibility to raise our children properly. If we don’t do it then pretty soon they’ll be listening to Rugby Union players on what happens to you when you die”

“Heaven forbid”

Senior corporate fat cats earn an obscene amount of money. More money than most folk could spend in several lifetimes. An unethical amount of money in many cases. And they know it. So in a desperate attempt to try and rid themselves of this guilt, they project their own self loathing onto wider society by getting fanatically into the cult of Social Justice Warrior fundamentalism. Even if these stances are riddled with sanctimony. In fact, being riddled in sanctimony and hypocrisy is actually the rule, rather than the exception, given that their entire persona is constructed around a level of cognitive dissonance.

Wow, Folau sacked for quoting scripture! See 1Cor 6:9-10.

https://www.msn.com/en-au/sport/rugby-union/folau-breaks-down-during-easter-church-sermon/ar-AAANOBA?ocid=spartanntp

MSN not the most reliable source of info but assume what they are reporting is word for word

A bit of irony when Falou says “We’re going to be hated by the world, persecuted by the world.”

How does he think homosexuals feel & have been treated for centuries?

What was the message in his post if not persecution?
