Without castagna there would be no 2 flags.

Saw Warner's list. I like Mick but Prestia is a clear miss with two Premierships & a B & F win. Top 10 now with a bullet.
Kane Lambert pretty stiff too I reckon.

Warner's list:
1. Dustin Martin
2. Matthew Richardson
3. Alex Rance
4. Jack Riewoldt
5. Trent Cotchin
6. Matthew Knights
7. Wayne Campbell
8. Shane Edwards
9. Brett Deledio
10. Joel Bowden
11. Dylan Grimes
12. Darren Gaspar
13. Bachar Houli
14. Paul Broderick
15. Chris Newman
16. Tony Free
17. Craig Lambert
18. Duncan Kellaway
19. Brendon Gale
20. Kane Johnson

I think the top 13 is basically set, and 14-20 are capable of being argued.

Ottens (All Australian), Hogg (5x Jack Dyer Medallist), Andy Kellaway (All Australian and Best and Fairest), Vlastuin (2x Premiership) and Prestia (2x Premiership and Best and Fairest) to replace Lambert, D. Kellaway, Gale, Newman and Johnson.

Sorry, I can't put Ottens anywhere near the best 20 for us. He played his best football for the cats. I lost all respect for him when he bailed out on us. We did all the work to get him up tohis prime & then he sooked up & pi55ed off.
Stuff him.

We lost him over 50k.
His 2001 season was 90% the reason we made the finals. If he stayed he would've been in the top 10. But i Agree he isn't in the top 30 let alone top 20
**Almost as bad as Brisbane letting Yeo go because of 60k

I tend to agree - the top 13 looks pretty good to me, however would make a few changes to the next 7 spots.

Vlastuin, Prestia and Andy Kellaway for starters should come in. Hogg and Kane Lambert (a few more seasons at his current level) could push their way in too. Foley potentially around the mark as well.

I had a real soft spot for Coughlan too (he was my favourite at the time) but longevity unfortunately counts against him. He was a gun at his peak though - injuries robbed us of seeing him reach his full potential.

Just did a little more reading. Warner uses the cut-off of 1987.

Flea Weightman's resume from 1987 onwards:

1. All Australian in 1988
2. Best and Fairest in 1987
3. VFL Team of the Year 1987-89
4. EJ Whitten Medal 1990
5. Captain of Victoria in 1987-88, 1990

Big oversight from Warner (and me). Flea is definitely in.

I would have all of Grimes, Houli, Broderick, Kellaway and Gale above Bowden. I'd also have Edwards above Campbell and maybe even Knights. Vlastuin definitely in ahead of Free, C. Lambert and Johnson. Prestia is a great player but I can see why he's left out as he's only played 3 seasons with us. In another 3 seasons he'll probably be in the top 10.

Knights ahead of Dusty? You are tripping Zips.

Dusty and KB are the best I've seen play for us. I missed Royce but got the tail end of KB; the 1980 finals series was enough in any case.

Maurice,, Flea, Richo, Raines, Rance, Cotchin, Riewoldt the next in line.

I love knights because he was our true gun during the most shitestt period of our history.
Dusty is surrounded by guns, who were the Guns surrounding Knights? King? Tivendale? Edwards?
We won our only final in 300 years thanks to knights.

I would have Nick Daffy in the best 20. Was one of the best half forwards in the league for a couple of years, before moving to the midfield and winning a B & F.
