Daniel McKenzie is still a work in progress but is a phenomenal athlete with huge scope for improvement. He only had a cameo at the carnival but did everything expected of him and proceeded to carry that form into the TAC Cup finals, helping the Charges to the premiership. He ticks most boxes, he can run like the wind, he has an amazing leap, he can run all day, he's strong overhead, he's DE is well above average and his last 2 months of football have been super consistent. Just where he might end up on the football field is still up for debate but he has the one thing we lack, explosive speed. If he's around by our third then I think he must be considered, his form & development trajectory is headed north and he looks to be ripe for the picking.

Any info on him Bully? Edit, found this.

Pick 57: St Kilda – Daniel McKenzie

Position: Midfielder
Height: 183cm, Weight: 77kg, DOG: 17/05/1996
Club: Oakleigh Chargers
Projected Draft Range: 50 – rookie
Player Comparison:

A player who has a knack of finding another gear in big games, Daniel McKenzie has averaged just the 15 disposals throughout the home and away season. However, he made a big statement in the first qualifying final, notching 20 disposals, four marks and three tackles against Geelong in the Chargers’ one-point win. He rates among the best in terms of his tackling, marking and transition running. Although he doesn’t bob up too often on the scoreboard, he is the type of grinding midfielder that has nearly unmatched athleticism, rating elite in terms of his speed, endurance and agility. McKenzie also has an above average leap, allowing him to play taller than what he is across several positions across the ground. On the burst he’s unstoppable, but consistency and remaining in the game over four quarters the areas that require improvement – which, to McKenzie’s credit, he is working on.

Here's another bio, although it doesn't take into account his stellar performance in the GF. For the record, I believe he's the best all-round athlete in this year's crop.

Daniel McKenzie- Oakleigh Chargers
183cm 77kg

Daniel McKenzie is a hard running midfielder with the ability to play inside and outside. To go with his hard nosed attack on the footy, athletically Daniel has some pretty extraordinary traits. McKenzie has speed to burn and is consistently able to break away from packs and use his damaging left foot to his teams advantage. However if speed isn't already enough of a foundation to catch the eye of recruiters, his vertical leap and ability to take a screamer won't go unseen. Combine these two traits together with at this stage quite a lean frame, Daniel has the potential to become a very handy contributor to an AFL list.

This year Daniel has managed his time playing for the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup, Caulfield Grammar in the APS and also represented Vic Metro in the opening round of the championships where he gathered 18 disposals and was one of Metro's best.

McKenzie and the Oakleigh Chargers will be looking to win their 3rd premiership in the TAC Cup in the next couple of weeks where McKenzie will play a vital role in Oakleigh's Midfield brigade. Daniels draft range at this stage is 3rd round to rookie picks come November however has the potential to be a steal for whichever club takes him.

His stocks must be rising a bit. i've seen a few mock drafts that have him going anywhere from mid 30s.
He sounds a good prospect I hope he lasts to our 3rd round pick

It sounds like there is a bit to work with. I have never seen him play but reading the above posts it sounds like we could do a lot worse at our 3rd selection.

Paige cardona does ok work, never really seen her criticise any junior footballer though.

Wouldn't be very nice writing "can't bounce at speed" or "shanks two out of three kicks" or "flat track bully"

Would be funny though

There was 1 player she totally wrote off in her phantom draft (can't remember who it was though)

She didn't have Dean Gore in her 5th version of her phantom draft.

Isn't too keen on Bampton.
