Well i just went off and did my Green thing. It's not just a thoughtless whim to vote for them. I started moving towards the smaller parties a few years back about the time when bomber dogged it on the Tampa issue.

People who vote for the Greens generally have a platform or reason - climate change and the environment - even though they are generally uninformed about the science, economics and policy details.

But you are right - politics sure can be a touchy subject!

Hi Antman, Gypsy and Six Pack.

Can I ask you directly, what policies do you think are good and bad from the Greens?

Cheers

Funding for schools on a needs basis was a standout IMO.

Their policies on sexuality and gender identity are a cut above the discriminatory policies of the major parties.

WHy would people vote for this rabble.Totally insignificant.

At least they believe in something. I disagree with their extremes, but they have an agenda. Vote for Dems you get.....? Vote One Nation, CEC, you get goosestepping SS down Swanston Street. Greens have an agenda, and while you may disagree with it (as I do), at least they believe in something.

Greater focus on environment as a priority, and a return to socialist values. Also greater freedoms on sexuality and drug use.

Saving Australia's remaining wilderness areas and preserving natural flora and fauna before it's all sold off to offshore conglomerates is one key objective that a lot of people prioritise quite highly.
