The boo when they entered had to be experienced to be understood
It sounded good on TV, but not quite up there with the boo over the top of the Uruguayan National Anthem at Telstra Stadium on the 16th November 2005.

What a night that was. I watched that on the telly but don't remember the boo at all, whereas I will chuckle on my deathbed at the memory of the 2017 QF razzing.

What about that horrible day in 72, Sammy? Nicholls & Walls.
1972. First Grand Final I ever attended, aged 9.
Richmond raging favourites to beat Cartoon.
Quarter time, Cartoon in front 8.4 to 5.4.
Me: "Dad, I thought we were supposed to win this easily".
Dad: "Only quarter time. Eight goals. They won't do that again".
He was right. They kicked ten in the second quarter.
18.6 to 10.9 at half time. That's a high scoring final score today.

Strewth. I still get angry about 1982 but you can't complain about how they beat us in 1972!

2017 GF for me. Had tickets to 2019, but figured we would win easily, and really thought some other Tigers out there deserved the chance to go, so gave them away.

Sounds as corny as all hell, but I got a massive amount of satisfaction out of giving my 2019 tickets away. The people who got them were so grateful.

I hope every Tiger supporter gets to experience what I did in 2017.

Didn’t miss one finals game from ‘17 - ‘19.

All of ‘20 was on the couch.

2017 GF. Flew the family across from Perth. It is the greatest week of my adult life! Gorged on all things Richmond. After the victory we hung out on Swan St for hours marvelling at the lunacy we had just witnessed and that which unfolded in front of us. The kids (9 & 12) just didn’t want to leave. To be honest neither did I. Hope above all hopes is that this year we get a GF week in Melbourne to better the last one.

I live in Europe but was lucky enough to get to the GF in 2017. Late in the season after we beat the Hawks (R18?) my wife (not into AFL) asked how we were going. I said something like if we can finish top 4 then you never know. She then said, well why don't you book a flight just in case, which I immediately did. I have the benefit of being a full MCC member so I know I can always go to the GF.

In 2018 I had again booked a flight which obviously got cancelled about half time in the Prelim.

In 2019 the wife was travelling for work that week and I was on parenting duties. She didn't get home until late Friday night (EU time) so no chance to go .

Then 2020, unbelievably, due to the death of a family member I was in Melbourne on GF day but of course the game was in Bris.

I'll always be incredibly thankful that I was there in 2017, it was absolutely amazing. With regard to the other years, I've taken the attitude that I rather we win and I'm not there than we lose and I'm there.

All attended with good friends and/ or family. Last 3 winning GFs with bro EZ and Jr. What a ride! So many great memories, on and off the field. Said after 17 I could die happy, now I can die even happier! Only regret is not going to '17 QF, almost flew down. That night was one of the happiest of my life watching on TV, and Dusty's fend on Stewart is one of my top 5 all-time favourite moments. 2020 PF was amazing for being grossly outnumbered in the crowd, weird feeling, not necessarily bad, just strange.

Strangely enough I have not attended any of those wonderful occasions and weirdly I am not to fussed.

I was at the 1995 semi against the Drugs.

I do not ccare if I was not there as long as my Tigers ....our Tigers make it to the big stage and win the Flag.

That's the main thing for me.

Obviously being there would be amazing and for those of us who've experienced that elation that's fantastic and I'm sure you cherish the moment.

For me I am happy with my lot as long as those Mighty Tigers are hoisting the silverware.

Blessed time it has Been.

Similarly to a few other old tigers, I was at the following GF's.
1972,73,74,80,82,2017,19.
Heaps of finals in between all those, my all time favorite being the
1980 VFL QF, RICHMOND VS CARLTON at Waverley Park, Tigers winning by 42 points.
Hungry kicking 6 and Flea kicking 4 and TJ swinging haymakers at Percy.
