Kane Lambert

Excusing a player for playing poorly because another player missing is ludicrous.

Didnt excuse him. Just think when Prestia is out of the side it really effects Lambert’s game

When Prestia is out of the side:
16, 15, 20, 21, 19, 18, 8.

With Prestia:
24, 29, 24, 25 (and averages 2 goals a game)

No excuse just pointing out he seems to struggle when Dion doesnt play.

It may apply to key forwards, but there are effectively 6 or 7 mids rotating. Lambert had a crap game.

Pretty simple. Just played a poor game. The likes of CEllis, Lloyd and Markov are playing strong football at VFL. Needs to find form, less stuff-ups.

How much of a positive is this though?? Prestia comes into the team and we not only add 1 quality player, but 2.

Wasn't one of Kane's better games as is often the case for others in a game but far too early to call for his head. I expect he will bounce back with his usual game next week

Under zero pressure to hold his spot if that is what you are insinuating Leonie.

Yeah Lambo was quiet, Cotch didn't dominate Dusty didn't star & we still won by 12 goals.
The problem is what???

I like the fact that even if we have a couple of guys down a bit, the slack is picked up by some one else.
Seems like that's what a good TEAM can do.

I'm glad that we're now in that position

Poor man's Conca.

Your usual lazy, hazy analysis Dazy. Only on old form, not current. How can you only have 4 & 4 for 8 Ds running through the midfield in such a strong win as this, missing chest marks and with other costly stuff-ups? He's out of form whereas we have several players who deserve their opportunity if he doesn't find it soon. You cannot afford to carry players in modern AFL. I did think the Biummers would be far better opponents but, rest assured, the challenges will come in our tougher run home and in the finals.

Along with the Disappearing Man, KMac, these two seriously worry me for the crunch games to come. Miles is extremely unfortunate and would prefer him instead of either of these two ATM, and just reshuffle the team to fit e.g. Bellis to wing. How can we keep denying such a brave, tough, reliable mid who gets leather-poisoning every week at VFL? BEllis has come back to form after his spell out too.

Have you watched some VFL, Hazy/Dazy? Once given their chance to settle in over a couple of games, are there signs CMoore and Menadue are stepping up to the level? Reward the form.

PS - Can you update us on how your world-beater, Yazz, is progressing? Heard nothing on him for ages. Fit yet? Comeback?

There's certainly a great team balance currently. Selectors are doing a brilliant job given we're covering a few injuries.

Lablett can’t afford to be quiet.

His unassuming eight possies are less impactful than if several of our other mids had the same number.

Not worried yet but needs to lift.

Don't think we need to worry about Lambert at all. He'll work himself back in to form, and I back him to be firing on all cylinders in the big games at the end of the year.

But he should be dropped this week if we're to maintain the pressure on spots, and reward VFL form. Won't hurt him to rack up some big numbers at the level he proved himself initially.

I agree Corburg

Pressure from the two's only works if players get dropped back when out of form and players performing above the standard in the VFL get a run.

Besides putting pressure on spots it also gives those players just out of the best 22-25 a feel for the speed of the game. Which changes each year. Who knows what form and injury will throw up as the season goes on.

Time for Lambert to go back and work on a few things and give Miles or C Ellis another go. Miles for me give his form and the big bodied Port mids.
