RICHMOND veteran utility Duncan Kellaway will be sidelined beyond this week's mid-season break after he suffered a foot injury in his first match for the season against the Blues.

Kellaway is expected to miss two weeks.

"(He) will be scanned this week, but the likelihood is that he'll miss a couple of weeks," football manager Greg Hutchison said yesterday.

Midfielder Kane Johnson, a late withdrawal from the Blues clash, will return to face Brisbane next week.

Craig Biddiscombe, recovering from an ankle strain, is expected to be available after the break.

"Johnson will be available for the Brisbane game, it's just a minor calf strain," Hutchison said.

"He'll go through the rehab this week and should be fine," he added.

Will be interesting to see if Greg is correct with the 2 week scenerio or the Richo type injury.

And Richmond will today examine scans on luckless utility Duncan Kellaway, who hurt his foot only 10 minutes into his comeback match against Carlton on Saturday.

Kellaway has a ligament strain on the top of the foot, an injury that may be similar to the one that ended teammate Matthew Richardon's 2000 season only five weeks into the year.

"That's possibly the case, but we're not quite sure yet," said football manager Greg Hutchison. "The doctors need to have another look at the scans and consult with some other people before that diagnosis can be made."

Captain Wayne Campbell (calf), Kane Johnson (calf) and Ben Holland, who played well for Coburg in the VFL yesterday, are all selection possibilities for the game against Brisbane.

Midfielder Justin Blumfield (thigh) will train with the VFL squad this week with a view to making his return with Coburg.
