Update:
@nickvlastuin
says ppl who doubt his injury are ‘idiots’. Playing on would’ve been a risk. Had to get a mate to do his socks and shoes for him. Can’t bend knee, drive or do stairs. Not sure if he’ll miss games issue with ‘the cartilage or the fat pad’

His great contribution to coaching was as the lead on the panel that appointed Mark Neeld to the Melbourne job :rotfl2 :rotfl2
I'm remember Gawee raving about Chris Connolly, reckoned he was the smartest guy he'd met in football and a certainty to be a great coach :rotfl1

Looking at this thread now , maybe I should have posted that I saw him walking his dog yesterday , obviously hes been fairly low key since 2015

I went to a meet and greet today with vlastuin and baker . Vlastuin had his knee strapped . He’s still pretty sore . He walked up these stairs and I watched him limp up them . He said to me it hurts when he puts weight on it . I don’t reckon he will play this week . He didn’t seem convinced .

if he misses a week i am ok, just glad it does not appear to be a long term injury

Aside from his knee injury, he's too brave for his own good. My hearts in my mouth every time he runs back with the flight of the ball.

If he's not right, I can't see us risking him this early in the season. If he doesn't play, I expect a reply from Gawwy Lyon the tool.

Nah it’s definitely not a long term injury
He was standing for a good couple of hours today . He wouldn’t be able to do that if it was serious. He wouldn’t have done the greet today if it was bad

Very odd. Would think he’d be resting up if even a little sore. Doesn’t make sense that he’s standing up for a couple of hours for a meet and greet.
Surely they could have brought in the sub?

Perhaps walking around on the leg was good for him?.
Still has 6 days to get it right.
My guess is he plays.

Big break between games so he would be a chance, but they also need to weigh up the risk. So glad it is not a serious knee injury.

Hehehe I thought that would happen myself
Very down to earth guy . Chatted for a good 15 minutes .

yeah give him the week off - we need to use the first 15 games this year to get some games into our youth and any excuse, sore player is a good one, should be enough.
