In 2019 we changed stables got a new trainer Lee Freeman Hardwick, and we paced ourselves all year. We didn’t sling shot like 2018, but we grew into the season and come home like Doriumus in the 95 cup.

Absolutely right that we paced ourselves, and made some of those complainers all through the season suck it up. There were so many comments around why we "couldn't put teams away", why we "always let teams back in" etc towards the end of the year (a lot were also from yourself Zips) when it was clear we were pacing ourselves.

No-one wins the premiership by steam rolling teams in round 17, or 18, or 19 etc. We won games, then paced ourselves to the end. When we could release that throttle and steam roller a team, GWS were on the end of it.

Pretty much perfect from Richmond post the bye in 2019.

It could be pretty easily argued that the rest of the competition lost ground to the Tigers in 2019

We COULD have won all three.
But if you believe we missed one last year, you could also say we jagged one the year before.
We were by far the best team this year and you could make a case for 2019 being the first year that the best team won the flag since Hawthorn in 2013.

I disagree. we were by far the best team in 2017. we finished 2 points off top and lost 4 games by under a kick (3 of which we were screwed by the Dumpires). we should have fihnished clear on top in 2017.

If you listen to the media carefully, most always state that in 2017, 2018 or 2019 we are the best team of the season BUT for that year only, rather than in general. There's always a silent sound of words as shown in yellow, such as: "....Richmond were the best team of the season, and only that season...." As we are in the 3rd year of dominance, I still haven't heard any sentence stating: "...Richmond have been the best team of the last 3 years...." from any media outlet. They just want to limit us to 1 season and that's it, just like most d-head oppo supporters whinging..."OK they're a great side, but now that the GF is over, a new season starts..."
Carey said something very like we’ve been the best team over the last 3 years during one of the finals games.

This competion highlights the best team in a month in a single game not the entire season.
So who really cares who was best over the season.
Go and ask Graig Bellamy how he feels, 2 games on top, straight sets out.

In 2017 we finished with the same number of wins as 1st and 2nd. In that finals series we beat 1st, 2nd and 4th. Very undeserved Premiers.
In 2018 we were clearly the best team all season but failed in the penultimate match.
In 2019 we finished with the same number of wins as 1st and 2nd. In that finals series we beat 1st, 2nd (away) and 6th (something teams 2 and 4 couldn't do)

Yes, we were very lucky to win two of the last 3 flags.

Poor flogs in the media can't understand how we've won two flags n wet farted in a prelim over the last three years. They've all gotten lost in the American hype of chasing down stats n numbers to the Nth degree to analyse, verify n explain performance.
We on the other hand simply play team footy waaaaayyyyy better than all the other numpties.

I thought the same thing but its too easy to dissect in hindsight.

Correct. Nobody has a clue how we are playing. The way our guys work for each other is a pleasure to watch - well only if you are a Richmond supporter that is

The other thing to note is that when finals are included we finished with the best overall record of any team in each of the 3 years

2017- 18-7 ( adelaide 17-7-1)
2018- 19-5 ( West Coast 19-6)
2019- 19-6 ( Geelong 17-8)

Don't forget according to some commentators we were lucky again this year as we didn't play any top teams in the second half of the season! I must have watched the wrong matches

Since the afl listen to commentators regarding us (the Ellis compo pick for example) this problem is easily fixed. We will have a unique fixture in 2020. We won't know who we are playing the following week until the previous round is completed. Then whoever is on top of the ladder will be our opponent next round. at the same time they will solve that age old problem that we play too many games at the G. We will be playing at our opponents home ground.
Of course, when we win the flag again, they will have to come up with a new excuse for why we are so good.
