Shut up Fagan. Banging on about the game being too long just because his game went 137. Wants to shorten it. That game had reasons for going so long eg injuries and such.

Meanwhile other games all went shorter. Some considerably so. One was 118 and two were 119.

Just shut up Fagan you AFL suck. 20 minute quarters are fine.
Yep, Fagan really belongs home in front of the fire in his cosy dressing gown, puffing a pipe, in winter - telling anyone within earshot of, "Now back in my day ...."

HUN today has article today urging Saints to re-sign Billings 'despite the lure of a top 5 pick as compo'

If Billings gets them a first round compo, i'll spew up.

Just out of idle curiosity. Hows that mob running " Victory " going at the moment? Seem to be doing a sterling job of destroying what was once a premium club. You don't happen to have any background say in the running of that mob by any chance :))?

Yep, we have some massive problems. Melbourne Victory is a privately owned club and the chairman is the majority owner (Anthony di Pietro) One of the other owners (Richard Wilson) is selling his 16% share to rank and file members in an attempt to give fans more of a say in the running of the club. I put my hand up to buy some, it'll be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

One of the first that needs to go is Trent Jacobs... Former marketing manager at Richmond ironically

With all the injuries the Dogs have, along with ours, we aren‘t going to learn much truths about either side this week.

Don’t get too high or too low.

Yeh, add Hinkley & Ratten saying similar. And talking about having the best "product" on show - blah blah blah. Ratten should worry about the product his side is dishing up rather than deflecting from it.

They can all STFU and worry about coaching their sides. We would have 6 on the bench and unlimited interchange if they got their way.

With all their injuries?? What A graders are they missing?

Dunkley - perhaps
English - no
Williams - no

Perhaps Lin jong?

We are missing the best in the comp and 2 genuine AA level players. If we beat them they should be pretty concerned.

Those three are all starting 18 for them. Dunkley is a star.

Yep Dusty trumps them by far. Still wouldn’t be taking away a hell of a lot from the result this week.

Not much chance of there ever being a coup over the chairman when he owns most of the club in the first place. Notice he doesn't wait for the fans to get up much of a head of steam before he puts the Dunny brush through the coaches though. Thinking they're on about their sixth or seventh coach since their beginning n old Ernie was there for a fair while before the Dunny brush came out of the cupboard.

More idle curiosity regarding Wilson trying to sell his shares ( to give the fans more say ). If it's 16% of the total shares sold off to a small, or large bunch of fans. They're not going to have any viable say in anything to do with the running of the club, unless they somehow gang up n vote their shares as a block at any time. Would more than likely just strengthen the hand of the few who hold a large chunk of shares.

Dunkley, yep pretty damn good.
English, still learning whatever the hell he's trying to be, handy at best.
Williams, decent player.
Kim Jong Un, fringe player

Dusty, FFS best in comp.
Prestigocomo, yep pretty damn good.
Flossy, should have several AA's bloody good player.
Lamblett, another who's been very good n consistent for years, fills the gaps to let Dusty b Dusty.
Soldo, handy back up ruck.

Woofers ain't missin that much.

you're kidding right? Brebs should have been sacked after the first 6-0 loss to city. he took way too long, but didn't wanna admit his own mistake.

yeah, it’s still early days and we don't know how its all gonna pan out. but the hope is that there will be a rank and file fan presentative on the board to represent the interests of the fan base and to have a say in the direction of the club. This would differ from Richmond of course where there is no rank and file fan presentative on the board. Just a bunch of businessman and lawyers.

Prestia/Vlas/Soldo/Lambert/

A fit Houli and perhaps a fit Stack?

the cattle missing difference is massive

not taking a lot from the result is a strange way to look at it IMO

Am I right in my understanding, heard / read a vague rumour weeks back. Might even have come from someone like yourself or similar that Brebs wasn't even actually that keen on the job in the first place?

Merrick, Durakovic, Muscat, Magilton, Postecoglou, Muscat, Kurz, Salvachua, Brebner, Kean, since 2004. Thought the Tigers at their worst were bad, but this is *smile* ridiculous.
No idea what having a fan forum representative on the board would do, they might get all excitable n sack the coaches even quicker. For all the passion and excitement around elite sporting teams, they are still first n foremost businesses and need to be run in a premium professional manner. Otherwise they're simply going around in circles burning cash n pissing off everyone involved.

he didn’t think he was ready. didn’t have the appropriate licences. The after being interim coach, he decided he wanted the gig.

Merrick's time was up. Durakovic, like Brebner wasn't ready. Magilton would have stayed had Ange not come along. Ange went to the Socceroos. Kev left... partly because his time was up and partly because he wasn't happy with the direction of the club. Kurz was a terrible choice. Salvachua went back to europe because of COVID.

To be clear, fan representation on the board doesn’t mean they'd be part of the decision-making process of players and coaches. its more about making the owners accountable to the fans for their decisions.

And not just on the park. Victory have fallen behind almost all of the other AL clubs when it comes to youth development and academies (not helped by the Footscray Park fiasco). Gosch’s Paddock is also becoming an outdated training facility. No other AL club trains in a public park (as far as I know) and it probably contributes to our injury woes.

We all know what has gone on in Europe with the ESL over the past week or so. 5 of the 6 premier league clubs that joined the ESL have foreign owners who put money ahead of the fans and the history of the clubs. Did you notice there were no German clubs involved in the ESL? That’s because they have the 50+1 rule where club members are required to have at least 51% of the voting rights. I think everyone can learn a few lessons from this.

Wow. Poor old Norf. They don’t have anything in the VFL either. 17 scoring shots to 3 at half time.

I don’t think the issue is which club is going to miss which players most.
It is rather that if we are going in intending to apply our trade mark pressure that we needed to select the players who have the craft to get to the ball first.
We can’t win if we simply rely on tackle count, an area where we have not been so good anyway.
Absent Dusty, Bolton and Sheds are our only Mids who can be expected to take a good share of mid field clearances. But, and for good reason, both have been selected as forwards.

Love the fact that Dimma is so committed to his players but Aarts and Caddy were passed over last year, and Houli is beginning to look like his time is near.
This was a great opportunity to try something new.
Graham and Ross as our opening Mids don’t inspire.
Just hope 2nd string Mids Baker and Castagna can provide something.
