By destroying the One Ring.

It wasn't by choice so can hardly be classified as redemption.

Think our prophet Tolkien would disagree with you, but hey that's the beauty of TCOLDE, we can all interpret in our own way.

Nice one Evo, Lucy is a fave of mine....but now they've found even older ones. (Afarensis I mean).

I reckon we should petition the mods and have our own thread. After all this is the one church.

It is up to you how you intepret the doctrines. You are the teacher.

Or as a wise man once said

These teachings are like a raft, to be abandoned once you have crossed the flood.
Since you should abandon even good states of mind generated by these teachings,
How much more so should you abandon bad states of mind!

"Deluded thoughts are unnecessary and unwanted patterns of electrical impulses in the brain. They make you believe things really exist in themselves, thus making you feel insufficient and insecure."

Things are not what they appear to be: nor are they otherwise

I love that quote Evo.

This also holds true:

"At least two-thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity: idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religous or political ideas."

As Epicurus our great Greek forefather ,millenia before once said....

"Death is nothing to us"
His most inspiring words, IMO. Embraced mortality with all the enthusiasm of the more modern existentialists.

Woot, Epicurus!
