How many here know Peter Norman's story? Melbourne man who won the silver in Mexico 1968, still holder of the current Australian 200m record but was not allowed to run again for his country because he stood up in support of black rights. They're lobbying to get a statue in his honor city square when it is redeveloped.

IIRC this was a very badly missed opportunity at the 2000 games in Sydney. The AOC were absolutely aware of the situation but chose not to acknowledge it and give him the credit he deserved.
