Round 12 - Richmond v Northern Bullants, Saturday July 3, 2.00pm, Preston City Oval

Bullants had 35 free kicks to RFC 19. Umpires were laughably bad. Stack BOG for mine. DRioli good. Parker’s DE was really poor. Bullants were much bigger and used it. Belted our smaller guys.

That umpire number 2 I think it was, it looked like they dragged him out of the bar........****** useless !!

Yeah I meant to mention this earlier. The size difference was remarkable, and makes it quite difficult for the AFL reserve sides to really stand up with the current rules when you get a lot of injuries.

I get why they have set these rules, essentially they want to give the stand alone clubs the age / size advantage and essentially the AFL reserve sides the talent advantage, but when you have so many injuries that the talent advantage disappears then you are almost left with a men against boys comparison and some of our young VFL boys looked very small compared to the Bullants.

The lopsided free kick count seems a constant … serious question: do we need a specialist ‘tackling and umpire awareness” coach … is it really because we play “on the edge”? Or do we need to poach someone from Geelong to teach the knee drop

Syd's running this out strongly. His season has really come on since the switch to defence.
Surprise, surprise.
Syd doing well in defence.
The move forward in 2019 still has me baffled.
Sure he had a couple of good games forward but seems a future AA defender for mine.
Go Stacky.

Yikes. Grim result. Although with five in the ones that shouldn’t be yet (playing to cover injury) it has its reasons.

The match reports don't mention any reported players from this game so does that mean Stacky escaped?

Do they have video review of the action in all VFL games?
The vision was there to see as everyone who watched the game have given their opinion on PRE, the big lug he tapped went down like a sack of spuds and stayed down and was as weak as *smile* but I reckon he will get a suspension, others disagree.
