Why 3,000 days? No one knows. It was Kennet's "Captain's Call". It was merely a coincidence that Kennet would reach 3,000 days when he beat Bracks at the next election. Oops.
So to claim the statue has anything to do with Andrews' "MAGA" supporters is just plain wrong. Actually, recently, the only MAGA behaviour surrounding Andrews is much like the MAGA behaviour when it comes to Hillary. Can't let go, keep bringing her up, keep telling the world how bad and evil she is.
Aware of all that. If he had a shred of decency, he'd knock it back. Underserving. Anyone who thinks he deserves it, is MAGA.

“They have opinions and views, and they’re more than entitled to those. But I’ll tell you what they’re not entitled to be. They’re not entitled to pretend that anyone voted for them. They’re not entitled to pretend that they’ve somehow got a mandate that is equal to, let alone superior to, the duly elected government.”
Dan sounds a lot like Trump - we got *smile* done, talking about mandates etc, wanting reduced scrutiny.

The sole criteria for a statue is to have served 3,000 days as Premier. There are no other criteria. Kennett wanted it this way. He didn't want any subjectivity for fear his might be challenged.
So, according to the criteria, Dan deserves a statue.
