Bloobbo in the HUN this morning taking aim at Prestia & not the bung rule itself is peak idiocy.
watching at the time i didnt think he deliberately faked the handball, he went to and changed his mind. but it is the obvious thing to do now.

i was disappointed how many of our players manned the mark last year, like statues, not ready to tackle once play on was called, but in reality you cant be tensed up, or you might move early. the man on the mark really does just need to take a moment to relax.
stupid stupid rule, that they will probably bring in other rules to try to make it not so stupid, rather than just getting rid of it.

The AFL will change the rule to "you can move a little bit".

Supporters hate what Gilligan and Shocking have done to our game. They treat it like their little plaything to do as they please including introducing *smile* stupid rule after stupid rule. They are only custodians of our game and they have completed failed in that duty.

The sooner Gilligan and his bunch of sycophant mates are boned from the joint and Benny goes in the better.

I don’t think Brendon is going to get it.
The President does and says little and seems to leave everything to Gill.
Gill won’t change the stand rule despite its deficiencies because it was introduced by his administration, without adequate consultation, or a trial, and inexplicably, just a few days before the season commenced, when lists were finalised and when coaches couldn’t adjust to try and prepare to deal with such a significant (rule) change
The rule reflects badly on him.
And he doesn’t like critics.

Brendan might seek to change it but
Gill will do all he can to prevent that from occurring.

The AFL will change the rule to "you can move a little bit".

Then they'll say "you can move so long as you don't go closer to the mark ", which will be reverting back to what it was before the stand rule was brought in, but avoids admitting they've repealed the rule.

Could just be because Prestia's nickname is "The Human Meatball" and now that Robbo's got to keep his arteries unclogged he is repulsed by our Number 3--he reminds him of his past overindulgences and the saturated fat filled life he left behind. But it's just a theory.

Yep, player with the ball has to nominate to the Umpire if he's going to kick, hand pass or try to play on
That's seems totally ridiculous. Banish the thought Baloo.

But, having said that, I would not dismiss the possibility of such being introduced by the AFL.

Define a little bit?

It's like, you know, a little bit, it's the vibe, you know. Just think of insufficient intent to keep the ball in play, you know, like the vibe of not trying to put the ball out of bounds. Or, prior opportunity, you know, the vibe of trying to dispose of the ball properly because you likely got tackled before you had the ball and no-one can work out if you had a prior opportunity to dispose of the ball you did not have when you were tackled.

All very straight forward o_Oo_Oo_O

Then they'll say "you can move so long as you don't go closer to the mark ", which will be reverting back to what it was before the stand rule was brought in, but avoids admitting they've repealed the rule.

Now this is a real possibility, they don't understand we are actually not so stupid we can't see through this crap. Just because they are that stupid doesn't mean we are.

It wasn't hard to predict that this rule/issue would blow up once Richmond benefitted.

This ^^
it wasn't as though Prestia was looking to handball to space. There was a Richmond guy (Rioli??) there.
Worst rule ever. Childish, detracts from the game and totally embarrassing when trying to explain it to out-of-towners/non footy followers.

They already have. I missed the introduction of the "BACK 5 METRES!!!" sub rule ammendment. It just appeared. They snuck that in.

Its a farce.

In light of Dion Prestia's flagrant disregard for the spirit of the rule, in attempting to explore his options in moving the ball forward,

I reckon they might modify the rule, so that both the player on the mark and the player with the ball have to STAND.

then they run advertisements for the all new series of Head Job at First Sight, only on 7Plus

yep, I had a really curious, brand new AFL convert ask me about STAND!

I started to explain it on face value, and gave up a after a few words,

and said 'its just a complete load of *smile*, farcical, blight on the game that everyone hates; players, coaches, umpires, fans, and the bloke who thought it up, so they could run more ads, was on a secret 7 figure salary and everybody hates him'

'oh, that's weird' she goes
