Richmond will utilise its big Round 7 clash with Essendon at the MCG this Saturday (May 10) to promote the Royal Women's Hospital Mothers' Day Appeal.

The Mothers' Day Appeal is the major annual fundraiser for the Royal Women's Hospital, which was established in 1856 as a maternity hospital for the poorest of Melbourne's women. Over the years it has grown into one of the world's great women's hospitals.

It is Australia's largest specialist hospital, dedicated to improving the health of women of all ages and cultures, as well as newborn babies.

This year the Tigers have thrown their considerable support behind what is an extremely worthwhile cause in helping the Royal Women's Hospital with its fundraising efforts.

The Club urges all its fans who will be attending Saturday's 'Blockbuster' match at the 'G' to give generously to the many volunteers collecting donations on behalf of the Royal Women's Hospital. Appeal collectors will be outside the ground before and after the game.

Richmond also will be promoting the Royal Women's cause in its corporate dining rooms at the match, as well as via the MCG scoreboard.

If you can't make it to Saturday's match, you can still make a donation to the Appeal by logging on to the following website address
www.mothersday.org.au.

I consider this a very worthwhile cause.

I know of a couple of Tiger members who have great reason to be appreciative of the Royal Womens Hospital. ;)

I'll be taking extra money to donate to the appeal for sure.

I hope people who are of the opinion that it's not right to buy a Richmond membership if people can afford it remember to dig deep for the Women's if they can afford it.

Money that goes towards saving lives is well spent.
