Richmond is expected to make a decision within a fortnight about its alliance with the Coburg Tigers in the Victorian Football League.
The Tigers are negotiating with Coburg about the future of the joint partnership to ensure that the needs of both parties are met.
However, Richmond acknowledges that Coburg has improved its administration and its ability to embrace the local community under the leadership of president Phil Cleary.
Speculation has mounted about the affiliation between Richmond and Coburg in 2004, particularly since it was recently announced that the partnership between Carlton and the Northern Bullants would not continue next season.
