Stackman get it together and get back on the big stage fella..

Cumberland has energy and some fierceness in him, from what little Ive seen, but have heard he has Richmondy Traits.

Hugo is one that they will definately try and get some games into this year
Yes Stack just needs more game time to build his fitness, confidence and hone his craft. My guess is he's about 3-4 weeks away. Cumberland looks like a player and has time on his side to develop.
Ralphsmith showed glimpses of what he is capable of and I reckon he's the type that will grab his chance if given it.
Dow is underdone so too hard to judge on today's performance.
MRJ is progressing well but we don't need to rush him.
Will Martyn looks like his confidence got a bit of a smashing from the port game. I hope not but he did very little in the midfield.

The biggest disappointment for me was the form of Chol, CCJ and Naish - three players on the cusp of selection but really had no influence on the game at all and actually looked disinterested at times.

Stack had 16 disposals so he is steadily getting more of the ball

not in the same league as any of your Marlion Pickett observations, prior to your late onset conversion

yeah I saw plenty of glimpses.

Dows first up run was full of merit.

Stackman showed more glimpses than a hooker at the casino

I think Dow has plenty of promise. Just needs to get a few vfl games under his belt.

yeah he has that 'above the level' look they talk about.

which doesnt mean best on ground or even played better than all the journeymen,

it just means they're more suited to a higher level.

Coaching?

Bit of perspective we have lost most of our good vfl players to other clubs to.Also on much tighten budget this year.

Good summation. Thanks MT

Im not fussed that where not winning in the 2's.
I rather have kid stand out in a losing side, then a kid standing out in a 10 goal win.
With all reports Cumberland looks like a quality kid and it's great to hear Dow was back.
Good days ahead.

Yet people are calling for him in the firsts. Sounds like Chol's mindset problems are insurmountable
If he invested as much time on his game as he does his 2nd phone activities he’d be a star

Went out to Werribee today with Taz & caesar. Firstly always a great day with those lads.

Stack was pretty clearly the best for us. Moving more like the 2019 version :). The onball role is clearly to build his tank.
Our undermanned midfield got beat up oday but he was our best player out there.

Other good signs were Cumberland who had a real purple patch almost immediately after I'd voiced my concerns that he'd been quiet which is Murphy's Law. That mark was a ripper & so was the kick from outside 50m. Can't wait to see what he puts out in coming weeks as he builds fitness.

Dow had a few cameos where he showed some fine skill but also needs match practice.

Ralphsmith moves like Keith Grieg. Very flashy player who looks a point of difference for our AFL side. Can see why the push is there to expose him at the level.

MJ had an 'almost' day. I like the cut of his jib. Think he's going to play AFL sooner than people think.

Most of the talls were poor. Miller good early but that was about it. A couple actually had days to forget.

The ground & it's atmosphere had a real old school feel about it today. Just good to be back watching VFL live. I've missed it.

Thing I’m liking about MJ Tooheys is that he’s in the game a lot, yes his playing a bit in the middle, however for a “specialist “ small forward he dosent go missing for long patches like they tend to do, he stays involved.
