Round 16 against the Saints was a very significant time in season 2017 for the Tigers.

Not many can explain why the team performed so poorly.

Well this is the reason and it potentially cost us finishing 1st on the ladder.

Dustin Martin met with the North players and coach the week leading up to the Saints game.
Word got out at the club, hence the disappointing way the team played.
However Dusty told his teammates the week after he wasn't going anywhere and he was going to stay.
(No he was never going to leave and those involved Balme/Richardson/Scott/Hardwick/Cotchin/Merkin knew that since mid-july)

Is it any wonder that from Round 17 the only dropped match was against the cats where things just didn't go their way.

So don't believe anyone who says Dusty was considering the move for the money, especially his manager.
Dusty deserves alot of credit for knocking back a big offer, his manager has been in his and his dad's ear for soo long he has semi convinced them that he should be paid a shedload more than was first offered.

I was at the Saints game. We played below our best for sure but the Saints were very good and very comfortable being on their home deck.

Don't reckon Dusty had anything to do with the loss other than being below his best.

Saints deserve credit for taking us to the cleaners that night.

not really. We only had 15 wins!
only game we blew was GWS
15 wins doesn't normaly get u in top 4.

Some might argue that we are better placed finishing 3rd than we have been finishing 1st

How many games did the top side win?

I would way more prefer

Rich v Giants
Adelaide v Geelong

Than Geelong v Richmond
Adelaide v Giants

Potaito, Potarto

Given that we got the double chance and our first final at the MCG, it doesn't matter where we finished on the ladder.

Hopefully, the boys can keep winning. As long as we keep winning, we don't leave the MCG.

If that's how our players react to Martin having a chat to some players from another club, geeze I hope he never gets injured.

So Dusty told all his team mates n the Admin at the club he was staying by way of apology for the Norf meeting n nothing of this dribbled out to the media via rello's or friends or anything, phhhht.
There's a very wise motto that three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead n you want us to believe that fifty people kept a secret for all this time :crazy

If we lose to Geelong , to make the gf , we would probably need to beat Adelaide at Adelaide

Yeah we were shocking that night. Something was definitely up

If we lose to Geelong, our Semi Final (v winner of Sydney and Essendon) will be at the G.
If we win that, we will play the winner of the Adelaide v GWS Qualifying Final, away.

Week 1 is a lock at the MCG. Win that and so is week3. Week 4 is at the MCG for sure.
..............,,,,,,,, lose week 1, then yes week 2 is at the MCG. Week 3 could be anywhere. Week 4 is MCG.
