Welcome Liam Baker

This kid is just a very tough and skilled player. Like the ball in his hands.
Should have had the free kick for the courageous mark when Dixon cannoned into him.

How can that not be paid a free kick?
It's not allowed to touch the arms in a contest.
But you can bulldoze through someone about to mark the ball.

Booked a lot respect with that one act. I thought he was reasonably brave but that was next level for a 75 kger.

This kid was conceived in a pressure cooker. Tough as teak. Some of Eggs efforts in comparison were unacceptable

Yep Egg could do a lot worse than hanging around Liam for the rest of the year and off season.
I used to cringe when Bachar pulled out of contests, but he absolutely turned that part of his game around. I hope Egg can do the same. He was a liability tonight

it was touched off the boot

regardless.
it could’ve been paid for ‘ no genuine attempt to mark the ball ‘ against the most flimsy big guy to ever play the game.
i can tell you, if Adam’s or Any Collingwood player had done what Baker did, not only a free kick but a 50 on top.
Teams are now realising that they can virtually do anything they like against us and they wont be penalised.
Martin was held in the 3rd qtr nearly every time he went near it. Bolton is held back after releasing the ball. The constant interference by Ports forwards in marking contests.
The sad part is Port are usually on the Other end with crucial decisions. The got reamed against stkilda.
Ive said it many times,
Umpires should be open to questioning.

Jumping in front of Dixon is like jumping in front of a bus. Courage personified. Jumped up and moved on with it straight away.

That needs to be shown to the boys every day. Egg in particular needs to understand that is what is needed

I genuinely don't know - but could Bakes be the answer to our midfield problem? His hands are as clean as Martin and Cotchin - gets the ball, makes smart decisions, has a tank...why not? He and Stack could potentially swap roles.

Yep, Dixon smacked straight into Baker with absolutely no intention of marking the ball. How is that not a free kick? Many other teams get frees for that.

If that was lynch going into Gray,
100% it would've been paid.
No genuine attempt to go for the ball.
The same explanation Balta got when Dixon got the free kick on the boundary

He wasn't even looking at the footy. Just trying to clean up the smallest bloke on the field.

Play on!
